Provided inspired project management for specific department and centre-
wide projects, the majority of which were based on either the organization-
wide clinical and business integrated, proprietary information system
(MEDITECH MAGIC), or on other software applications utilizing client-server
technologies.
. Worked closely with clinicians to identify opportunities for improvements
in clinical information management, enhancing systems' functionality and
workflow.
. Implemented new processes, information systems, upgrades, and
enhancements for a variety of software products, resulting in improved
usability, efficiency, data interpretation, and end user satisfaction.
. Handled administrative oversight for implementation of a comprehensive
electronic health record (EHR), and supervised an integrated project team
of 5 informatics and 12 seconded clinical staff, and 3 consultants.

budget for the EHR, as well as from the budget for a major release

Principal Consultant
. Functioned as System Analyst for a large (more than 30 physicians) free-
standing Physician Clinic feasibility study and vendor selection. The
scope of the project included replacing applications for patient
registration and scheduling, billing, accounts receivable, and creating a
new electronic health record. Provided research on vendors and
coordinated demonstrations, which led to the successful selection of a
vendor and subsequent implementation.
. Directed a team of clinical and information services staff for both a
teaching hospital and a northern Ontario merged hospital. The team
provided project assessment, planning, and initial implementation support
for a large client-server based clinical information system (precursor to
Eclipsys Sunrise Clinical Manager which included a clinical data
repository, order entry, results review, and documentation in an
electronic health record.

. Led more than 50 Canadian and U.S. hospitals and community-based
institutions to plan, develop, and implement productivity measurement
systems. Developed new workload and statistical applications compliant

. "Launching and Printing of Critical Information Report", MIGHTY MUSE
Eastern Canada 2009, Conference, October 9, 2009. Co-presenter on a
session describing Baycrest's experience pulling together Critical
Information in an easy to launch and print format from within
MEDITECH.
. "Going Live at Baycrest - Part 1, From EHR Planning to Rollout", MUSE
Eastern Canada 2006 Conference, October 19, 2006, Richmond Hill,
Ontario, and TEPR '06 (Towards the Electronic Patient Record)
Conference, hosted by The Medical Records Institute, May 24, 2006,
Baltimore, Maryland. This concurrent session described how Baycrest
went live with its first chronic care hospital and nursing home units
in June, 2004 and completed implementation of all in and out-patient
areas by September, 2006. Topics covered included the successes and
challenges of the analysis, planning, design, and implementation,
including post-implementation realities and lessons learned.
. "Implementing Standardized Language within Online Documentation: Being
BOLD!", invited poster presentation for the first Canadian Nursing
Informatics Association conference, September 14-16, 2005, Toronto,
Ontario, and one hour presentation for the Southern Ontario Nursing
Informatics Group, October 22, 2004, Toronto, Ontario. The poster and
the presentation each focused on selection of a standardized
nomenclature and use of this nomenclature in an online documentation
