Research: Anode catalysis in direct formic acid fuel cells

(DFAFCs).

Achievements:

. Developed a number of carbon supported Pt-M/C (PtPb/C,

PtSn/C, PtSb/C, PtBi/C) and Pd-M/C (PdPb/C, PdBi/C,

PdSb/C) anode catalysts for DFAFCs.

. Developed a high-throughput catalyst screening

methodology by using multi-anode DFAFC and array

membrane electrode assemblies (MEA).

. Proposed a mechanism regarding deactivation of the

palladium catalyst in DFAFCs.

. Published seven journal papers so far.

. Made three presentations at various conferences.
