Operations Leader - Pipe Insulation Business (2005 - 2009)
Directed tactical operations in annually producing over 19 million pounds
of pipe insulation in a highly charged union environment. Plant operates a
continuous flow process, 365 days a year. 160+ employees with 3 different
unions: GMP, IAM and IBEW.
. Achieved $1M training cost reduction in 2008 with a 42% changeover of
the operations team (60+ associates) by leading a cross functional
team and utilizing lean manufacturing techniques and kaizen events.
. Achieved $11M in EBIT in 2007 driven by 15 kaizen/continuous
improvement events annually by involving over 35% of the workforce in
waste elimination initiatives.
. Reduced shift performance variation from 5.1% to 2.7%, overall
