To present As Maintenance Supervisor, I am responsible for the upkeep and
repair of apartment buildings, houses, and other rental
properties. This requires a knowledge of plumbing, electrical
systems, HVAC equipment and carpentry. I also work on
appliances and maintain the company trucks. I supervise and
train other employees as well as organize projects.
August 1998 AEC Enterprises/Seed and Grain Systems, New Virginia, IA
to February 2002 I worked as a Design Engineer designing equipment
used in seed processing plants. This included using many
mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
Equipment I designed included conveyor systems, seed corn
dryers, and hydraulic door systems. Using a CAD program, I
created 3 dimensional models of the equipment and structures
I designed as well as all necessary part and assembly
drawings and bills of materials. At times, I was in the field
installing, servicing and trouble shooting equipment.
November 1995 Suneslope Farm, Ames, IA
to August 1998 For a college job, I maintained all of the farm equipment
and buildings on a 240 acre farm. I serviced and repaired
tractors, skid loaders, planters, and haying equipment. I
also took care of heifers remaining after the sale of the
milking herd and custom fed replacement heifers for a
research herd.
June 1993 S-Riverbend Farms Duncombe, IA
to June 1995 As herdsman, I took care of and milked the 100 cow herd,
significantly improving udder health and milk quality. I
also maintained all farm equipment including conveyors,
Harvestore silos, manure pumps, and field machinery. I filled
silos and did other fieldwork.
August 1988 Land O Lakes Answer Farm, Webster City, IA
to June 1993 My position as a Senior Research Technician made me
responsible for the general management of the dairy unit,
maintaining the milking, feeding, and manure equipment and
taking care of 200 milk cows. I was also responsible for all
activities in the milking parlor including maintaining high
milk quality, data collection, research records, and
supervising other employees. I took care of the baby calves,
bred cows, and worked with herd nutrition at times. I
assisted other departments at times working with veal calves,
beef cattle, turkeys, and in agronomy test plots.
Experience and Accomplishments
Skills
Computer: Word, Excel, AX4000, some Autocad 2002 and some exposure to
PLC's.
Many of my ideas have been implemented to improve the operation of
equipment and efficiency of the working place at previous employment
positions.
I have a very good mechanical aptitude and am very proficient at
understanding how machinery works. I have used many different types of shop
tools including welders and torches. I have worked with carpentry,
plumbing, and electrical systems.

I enjoy restoring cars and antique tractors, woodworking, scuba diving,
hunting, fishing, and camping.
