Objective
To obtain employment that will allow me to utilize the many professional
skills that I have acquired over the years, while being personally
challenged. My preferences would be in the areas of a specific project-
related assignment, Maintenance Planning, or some other type of
management or leadership role.
Availability
I can be available for employment with several weeks' notice.
Employment History
Procter and Gamble, Paper Products Division
Manufacturing Facility, Mehoopany, PA February 1970 - February 1998
Project Engineer
During my three-year assignment as a Project Engineer, I managed eight
separate projects totaling $9 million dollars. My responsibilities
included cost estimating, putting together a funding package, purchasing
the equipment, and managing the installation and start-up of the
projects.
Maintenance Planning
This assignment included the training and development of seven
maintenance technicians, maintaining their personnel files, and ensuring
the seven lines' reliability allowed production goals to be met. Projects
were implemented on time and maintenance costs were below budget.
Team Leader
Held Team Leader position three times during my employment. Managed up to
26 people; was responsible for production, quality, safety, as well as
skill development of the people on the team. This included regularly
scheduled work performance reviews of my staff, both written and done in
one-to-one conversations.
Line Pair Manager
During this assignment I was responsible for two tissue production lines
and 39 technicians. Responsibilities included conducting meetings about
safety issues and training, meeting production and quality goals,
maintaining departmental appearance standards, and overseeing the
technicians' personal development.
Maintenance Technician
Held three Maintenance Tech assignments during which I was responsible
for the reliability of a tissue production line, including the
manufacturing costs and product quality of the line. During my
assignments, each of the three lines set category reliability records and
were the lowest cost-producing lines. During my maintenance assignments
I did Root Cause Analysis to determine why parts failed and planned all
maintenance for down days and major outages. I modified hundreds of
parts to either extend their life or to eliminate future failure.
Core-making Project Technician
During this assignment, I was sent to a department in which I had no
prior experience. Highlights included developing a new glue applicator
for the converting process, which led to a higher quality product,
implementing many new reliability projects and equipment centerlines, and
training of the operators. The department's reliability improved from 63%
to 93% during this two-year assignment.
