As a Police Officer my responsibilities are in the area of law enforcement
to the Pentagon and the National Capital Region. My primary duties and
responsibility are protecting life and property, preventing, detecting and
investigating criminal acts, and enforcing traffic regulations throughout a
large complex of Pentagon Reservation. Additionally, the protection of,
Deputy Secretary of Defense and other high ranking personnel. I perform
services to the direction and operation of the office that include a
variety of physical security and administrative requirements associated
with policies, safety, property accountability and inventory control,
taskers, information technology, space management and matrices. Provides
force protection for all Agency assets, ranging from terrorist threats to
breach of physical security and investigating various incidents.
Responsible for ensuring the physical integrity of required Agency
facilities 24-hours a day, seven days a week as well as responsibility to
investigate, apprehend or detain personnel suspected or convicted of
criminal offenses. Stands post and patrols designated areas in order to
detect and prevent violations. Prepare detailed reports of emergency
situations, descriptions and locations of security and safety violations,
etc. Places individuals under a warrant or warrantless arrest that may
require subduing, handcuffing and otherwise restraining the arrested person
until further disposition can be made. Incumbent qualifies on the firing
range using primary weapons and carries a firearm on duty along with other
police equipment
SC
As a police officer I am required to perform duties on a rotating shift and
will receive on-the-job training. Perform a wide variety of complex law
enforcement duties generated by the surrounding area of the installation.
Major duties include responding to and/or investigating complaints of minor
to complex incidents, patrolling the installation via motorized vehicles,
walking or bicycling; gathering and analyzing the facts, taking statements;
performing traffic law enforcement; performing law enforcement duties at
fixed posts such as entry and exit gates throughout the installation;
implementing antiterrorism/force protection measures; writing technical
descriptive documents/reports and performing other law enforcement duties
as assigned. Served as Desk Sergeant with responsibility for the operation
of the installation security communications police network mobile patrols
throughout the installation, and access control. Initiate emergency actions
by police force during accidents or incidents. Responsible for maintaining
police blotters, journals and various DA Police reports in accordance with
established procedures. Responds to emergency calls, exercises arrest
authority, investigates incidents/crimes, detains witnesses, apprehends
suspects, administers first aid, summons assistance, protects persons from
further harm and preserves evidence. Observe traffic for evidence of unsafe
practices, unsafe vehicles, improperly registered vehicles, helmet/seat
belt use, etc., and arrests offenders. Monitor traffic surveys, traffic-
signal observance, speed studies, passenger counts, etc. Operate motor
vehicles. Served as Dispatcher with responsibility for the operation of the
installation security communications police network mobile patrols
throughout the installation, and access control. Maintain communications
with mobile patrol units. Also served as a Patrol Officer. Respond to
emergency calls, exercises apprehension/arrest authority, investigates
incidents/crimes, detains witnesses, apprehends suspects, administers first
aid, summons assistance, protects persons from further harm and preserves
evidence. Perform follow up on-site tasks such as photographing scene,
taking measurements or making diagrams. Interview witnesses and persons
involved in incidents/crimes and prepare written reports. Uses established
procedures to assist or perform search of person(s) to seize weapons,
contraband, drugs, etc. Use appropriate degree of physical force to subdue
disorderly or dangerous persons. Explain rights and procedures to violators
placed under arrest.
WALTER
Supervise overall assignments and operations for procedural compliance to
ensure that established security standards are maintained. Makes selection
for promotions, reassignments and status changes. Assures that job
description accurately reflect the duties and responsibilities assigned to
subordinate positions. Supervise guards that perform various aspects of law
enforcement work designed to maintain law and order for the WRAMC Army
Medical Center (Hospital). Conducts a body of rules, regulations, and legal
authorities to enforce personnel access procedures and detect trespasser
violations in order to protect unauthorized access to highly sensitive
restricted areas requiring a diverse range of protective responsibilities
over Federal property, employees, and visitors. Work with prescribed
limitations on the use of force (including weapons) according to
circumstances encountered during duties. Responds to intrusion and duress
alarms IAW emergency alarm procedures. Takes actions to correct hazards
encountered and reports on corrective action taken. Provides armed guard
services for the protection of employees, patients, visitors and government
property within WRAMC Hospital. Maintain a high state of readiness
providing security and protection foot high traffic/risk areas. .
Develop/implements a Force Protection program to protect DOD personnel,
facilities, automated information & assets from an entire spectrum of
threats including terrorism by assessing Antiterrorism/Force Protection
needs. Work under the supervision of the Chief of Physical Security. Assist
with the implementation of the crisis management program planning and
execution in the event of terrorist attack or other emergency situations.
Supervise armed patrols of assigned area by vehicle or on foot. Is
empowered to detain persons committing or suspected of committing crimes on
the installation. Provides first aid as needed and takes charge of
emergency situations until relief personnel arrive. Collects and protects
evidence, witnesses, victims, etc. Conducts preliminary investigations of
various felonies and misdemeanors. Security supervisor, responsible for
planning, directing, and reviewing the activities of security officers
engaged in the enforcement of laws and protection of government property,
materials, and processes. Performs security and law enforcement work in the
protection of life, property, and civil rights of citizens by maintaining
law and order. Observes or responds to reports of crime ranging from
violations of simple rules, to felonies and capital crimes. Checks

Shift Supervisor for a guard force of 7-8 guards,

plans work to be done by employees. Set and adjust short-term and long-
term priorities and prepare work schedules. Prioritize assigned work to the
guards based on the what mission takes precedence. Monitor work performance
of the guards, advise the guards of counseling on both work and
administrative issues. Resolve complaints from employees and try to handle
them at the lowest level. Inform higher of more serious complaints that
need to be resolved at my level. Impose disciplinary measures like verbal
warnings and recommending other actions in more serious situations. Develop
specify training that fits the needs of the guard force. Provide written
orders pertaining to each individual post and your duties while at that

Command and control over Close Circuit Television (six monitors and one
commercial monitor) inside Command Operations. Ensured that all the guards
on the force are familiar in operating the CCTV. Serve as supervisor of the
Security Guard Desk Section. Provide supervision to civilian employees and
technical guidance and direction to the Department of the Army
personnel.Provide service as a security guard and grounds coordinator
overseeing a staff of three to seven security officers. Assigns guards to
posts and tours of duty based on daily task logs, which are organized by
manager. Makes daily adjustments to assignments of personnel and transmits
information in accordance with established or special instructions when
supervisor is unavailable. Provides on-the-job training in security methods
to apprentices and subordinate security staff. Maintains a current level of

Oversee a staff of 30 guards, rendering various aspects of law enforcement
work to highly limited access and prohibited areas for the protection of
government property against fire, damage, accident, theft, trespassers,
spying, damage, and riots, overseeing six or more guards on a particular
shift. Implement authority to arrest individuals for motor vehicle
violations, delinquency, crimes, etc., based on feasible reason at WRAMC.
Perform foot patrols in order to detect problem circumstances and/or
conditions; controls vehicle and pedestrian traffic at permanent stations;
conducts preliminary examinations of misfortunes and offenses. Plan
schedule for subordinates based on priorities, selection of difficulty and
requirements of assignments. Evaluate the work of subordinates actively
involved in Anti-Terrorist/Force Protection Measures. Aware of current
Force Protection Conditions (FPCONs) and aware of recent terrorist
activities in the local area. Provide personal security of patients, staff
(including addressing the risks of violence in the workplace), and visitors

ARMY
Networking Chief for the entire Brigade Combat Rapid Deployment in a heavy
division. My duties required me to configure TCP/IP network protocol,
installing HP Laser Jets printers and updated profiles. Performed coding,
test, limited programming, maintaining documentation and program data
bases, and provides assistance in unit programming and systems development.
Occasionally participates in variety of special projects and assignments
which are conducted to improve and proliferate the use of automated
techniques throughout the Brigade. Physical Security Specialist, performing
formal and critical physical security inspections, preparing reports,
presenting briefings, performing various functions such as identifying
vulnerabilities, assessing risks to personnel and property based on
terrorist threat levels and prescribing appropriate and required security
measures, techniques, methods, technical advice and assistance to improve
the safety and security of US Government personnel and property. Analyze
security system design, installation, and maintenance in a wide range of
activities within the organization and in non-Government organizations, in
