Project Manager/ Enterprise Project Manager, Elmhurst Memorial Hospital -
Elmhurst, Illinois 2009 - (present)
Elmhurst Memorial Hospital is a 330 bed community hospital with over 600
employees. Assumed project management role over problematic and oft
delayed MEDITECH laboratory implementation. Due to the success of
laboratory implementation, contract was extended to develop and oversee
the Meditech Advanced Clinical Strategy initiative Project Management
Office as part of Elmhurst's EHR initiatives.
Initially retained to assume management of a troubled and behind-schedule
MEDITECH laboratory project in September 2009. Immediately re-organized
project structure and priorities, establishing a new production date and
overall sense of calm. Successfully brought project operational in March
2010, managing all applicable project tasks through project closure.
Retained in the role of Enterprise Project Manager overseeing the advanced
clinical strategy (ACS PMO) as part of Elmhurst's EHR initiatives. The
MEDITECH project suite includes modules EDM I (ED clinical documentation
and tracker), EDM II (ED physician documentation and orders), PCM I, PCM II
(physician documentation and CPOE), POM (order management), and PCS
(clinical documentation).
Retained to provide mentorship and structure to four project managers in
the ACS PMO.
Project Manager, Mercy Health Partners - Knoxville, Tennessee, June -
September 2009
Mercy Health Partners is a large multi facility hospital system and a
division of Catholic Health Partners. Retained to manage two projects:
GE radiology/PACS and the Sunquest laboratory system implementations.
Assumed management of a troubled and behind-schedule GE radiology/PACS and
Sunquest laboratory projects. Provided stability and re-established
priorities and project organization to two project teams.
Brought both projects successfully into production in September 2009 as
part of a 14 application whole-house "big-bang" conversion at two
hospitals.

Project Manager/ Enterprise Project Manager, Resurrection Health Care
Systems - Chicago, Illinois, 2002--2009
A very large nonprofit hospital system with nine hospitals and 16,000
employees. Directed the work of five project managers through seven full-
house hospital conversation as part of the company's five-year plan to
integrate all nine facilities into a unified system encompassing all areas
of clinical practice and administration. Directed major projects in the
areas of finance, payroll, human resources, materials management,
laboratory services, pharmacy operations, and surgical practice. Served as
liaison between technical teams and executives, developed technical
position papers to justify capital expenditures and assess project
feasibility and risk.
Initially retained to lead the lab conversion project at St. Joseph, the
flagship facility, subsequently adding two additional hospitals. Brought
project in on time and within budget, prompting Directors to extend the
contract to include installation of the McKesson hospital management
package across the entire system.
Assumed management of a troubled and behind-schedule backend financial
project that included human resources, material management, payroll,
general ledger, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. Brought in on
time and within budget.
Assisted in launching the systems Project Management Office and a Project
Manager Mentor Program (RES-NetSM). Organized the PM services for capital
projects and completed a series of 9-month projects on time and within
budget.
Senior Project Administrator, Adventist Health System, SSCI, Winter Park,
Florida, 1999-2002
An extended hospital system with 22 facilities in seven states, the
facility was in the process of implementing the Sunquest Laboratory
Management System across 12 facilities when project manager left with the
implementation incomplete and behind schedule. Advised the corporate CIO on
laboratory support issues and implementation of Sunquest Information
Systems and CoPath Anatomic Analysis systems.
Ran simultaneous implementations remotely across multiple locations and
brought to completion on time.
Created a unified laboratory support strategy with one common support staff
covering all locations.
Led the successful, on-time implementation of McKesson's Clinical Horizon
products, ED (emergency department) Tracking Board, and the Dictaphone
Transcription System.
Served as Project Manager and Technical Advisory to Adventist Health
System, Chicago, to implement the Sunquest Laboratory System.
