PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
UAB HIGHLANDS 2007-2009
A small, acute care facility acquired by UAB Hospital in April 2006 as a
result of a buyout.
Human Resources Coordinator
. Supported an employee workforce of over 500 employees. Primarily
responsible for, Benefits Administration and Recruiting.
. Recruited, screened, and interviewed applicants for exempt and non-
exempt positions. Also, conducted their reference/background checks
and prepared offers for those candidates.
. Coordinated and facilitated New Hire Orientation to ensure that
employees received a thorough introduction to the hospital and its
culture, thus providing a smooth transition into our workforce.
. Evaluated and approved FMLA/PLOA requests to ensure all legal
requirements were met.
. Coordinated the annual Open Enrollment period of all employee
benefits. Provided individual consultation on benefit options and cost
perimeters.
. Prepared advertising initiatives, coordinated Open Houses, and
attended Job Fairs to attract professional candidates.
. Worked with HR Manager to coordinate transition activities. Employees
were given option to move from our payroll to UAB Hospital's payroll
as a part of the integration initiative. Counseled employees regarding
change management and assisted with coordination of necessary support
and services.
. Assisted with the implementation of a new on-line Employee Benefit
system by providing Data Management, helping with Strategic planning
and Website Design.

A historically black, independent and state-related institution of higher
learning that offers many programs of study as well as several research

. Supported an employee workforce of over 700 employees. Primarily
responsible for Benefits Administration, Data Management, and Employee

correct cost parameters for their benefit selections.
