Senior operations officer for the complete cycle of a 3 year 200 mm capital
campaign including initial design incorporating Lean, Ergonomics and Job
Hazard Analysis detail, prepared cost estimate with contingency funds and
designated phasing included in bidding process and contracts with the
trades and architects. Managed the general contractor, vendors enforcing
OSHA compliance and simultaneous enforcement of all state and national
Building Codes, Life Safety, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), The
Joint Commission, and all external governing bodies. Ran weekly project
meetings with the trades and the internal customer, presented regular
updates to the Executive Staff and Board of Directors. Systemized the
commissioning process and the resolution matrix. Championed a "Best
Practice" closeout process to ensure collection of all needed plans, as
builts, prints, required inspection and testing documentation. Created and
developed a Competitive Bid scoring tool and Negotiation Policies.
Responsible for the short and long term Facilities Strategic Plan. Created
a Construction and Renovation Summit, a formal process to aide in the
annual organization budget process. Revolutionized Safety in healthcare
guided an organization to becoming the 9th hospital in the country to
receive OSHA VPP STAR Site recognition. Formulated another facility safety
success by being the first and still the only hospital to be selected as
one of "America's Safest Companies". Multi site facility operation,
consolidated departments under my leadership Maintenance, Bio Medical
Engineering, Emergency Management, Employee Health, Safety, Security,
Grounds, Infection Control, Compliance, Risk Management, to strengthen the
facility momentum.
Project Manager Lean Processes, Southern Ohio Medical Center; Portsmouth,
Ohio-2004-2005 Developed enterprise wide software deployment program.
Established analytic comparators across the industry to identify
efficiency improvement opportunities for the medical center. Measured,
monitored and implemented cost reduction and labor efficiency system
resulting in a 12% EBIT improvement year over year.
Home Health Manager, Southern Ohio Medical Center, Portsmouth, Ohio - 1997-
2004
Managed the largest private duty program in the state of Ohio. 85 direct
employees and 223 clients delivering 9000 direct service hours per month.
Reduced employee injury rate by more than 60%, the ergonomics program we
created was published as a Best Practice. Reduced employee turn-over rate
by 54%, maintained improvement for the life of the program. This
relationship project was shared at multiple national conferences as a Gold
Standard.
