Lean Team Leader April 2007 to February 2009
Responsible for all aspects of a three shift manufacturing
operation, including assembly, molding, stamping, tool room and
warehouse functions. Responsibilities include development of and
performance to the manufacturing business plan, delivery
requirements and continuous improvements. Six direct reports run
the day to day operations. Direct reports are assembly operations,
molding, stamping and tool room operations, maintenance and
warehouse operations. Responsible for, and currently lead, the
Lean implementation team.
Highlights
o Responsible for all aspects of Manufacturing in a 130 hourly
employee, 3 shift operation recognized by customers and
corporate leadership as best in class for Customer Service.
o Member of the senior management team awarded the corporate
performance award
o Implemented a formal recognition process for performance within
the bargaining unit
o In 2007 attended a 3 month Lean Enterprise training initiative
o Implemented a comprehensive productivity and quality
accountability process within the bargaining unit
o Member of Company negotiating team and assisted in the
successful negotiation of 3 labor agreements
o With HR, improved labor relations measured by a significant
reduction in grievances and developed a partnership with IBEW
o Instituted a program to track all tool room work and capture
time by tool or department project

Responsible for operations of entire business answering to group
president.
Project Engineer 1994 to May 1998
Responsible to plan and implement projects ranging from tooling and
fixtures to new equipment and new materials.
Continued responsibility for some assembly departments.
Assembly Process Engineer June 1990 - 1994
Responsible for all assembly processes: riveting, screw driving,
semi-automatic assembly, manual assembly, eyeletting, sawing,
ultrasonic welding, printing, including tooling and fixture design
and troubleshooting, process improvements, equipment upgrades.

o Analyzed and reorganized assembly floor layout, 1993 & 1997
o Analyzed screw/joint performance characteristics; plating,
lubrication, materials. Revised processes and components for
improved performance and reliability.
o Analyzed phenolic molding materials and operations for improved

enhance process reliability.
