OBJECTIVE: I seek a career where my experience and accomplishments will

enable me to excel. I will be of great benefit to a company in the areas of

growth, professionalism, ambition, and human relations are concerned.

(Second Language Spanish) Seeking the opportunity to learn to read, write,

and speek Chinese

Accomplishments

President and owner of the Alexander Company of Dalton

. I started the Alexander Company of Dalton with an investment of

$17,000. Within 3 years, I established sales to 1.5 million+. I made

every management decision - including sales, marketing, cost

accounting, purchasing. I accomplished this with only a secretary and

a truck driver to assist me.

. Established the company as a mail order carpet supply business

. Began supplying most of the areas carpet and rug manufactures with

supplies

. Designed and supplied a local manufacture with a rug accessory that

was used on designer rugs sold under the name of "Martha Stewart

Collection" that were sold by the K mart retail of chain stores

. Developed a thread that made "high speed" sewing more efficient at

Mohawk

. Developed a unique carpet trim that was used to finish children's

rugs. The product had to be constructed in such a way that it would

resist chewing/tearing by toddlers. This unique edging greatly reduced

the chances of a small child becoming choked

. Supplied Mohawk with an "ultra fine thread" to be used in an

application where thread strength and shrinkage had been a problem. In

solving this problem, Mohawk's program with JC Penny and Manard's was

secure.

Vice President of Freddie Richmond Co.

. I made every management decision - from top to bottom, since the

company was small - around 40 full time employees.

. Implemented changes that moved the company away from contract work

into developing and selling it's own products - resulting in growth

from $400,000 to $3,000,000 + in annual sales

. Established a pleasant working environment where employees were

rewarded and recognized. Treating every employee with respect and

dignity - even in the event of a reprimand or dismissal. A very

positive employee/management relationship was the result.

. Sourced new and less expensive raw materials

. I purchased and sourced all of my products (buying from the source as

often as I could) and I did all of the cost accounting for the company

. Designed and developed new products

. Planned production for maximum production per man hour

. In sales, landed major accounts both domestic and abroad - high volume

- high profit accounts

. Increased profit margins by establishing higher, realistic pricing,

and adjusting these prices to compensate with the ever increasing

costs of manufacturing.

. Increased profits by establishing a mail order program for products

sold

Education

Associates of Arts in Liberal Arts from Dalton State College

B.A. of Liberal Arts Kennesaw State

Minor Espanol

I am very gifted with languages, and I hope to be able to study Russian or

Chinese in the future. Very few people can read, write, and speak these

languages that will be of such great importance in the future.

I always attended college part time, since I always worked full time.

Evening classes for either of these languages would not be unusual for my

lifestyle.

Employment History

Present Employment: JAMA Sports: VP of Manufacturing and Director of

Product of Development

I design custom uniforms for all types of sports. My skills in

international sourcing and purchasing prove to be a great advantage to our

company, since I can import materials at a low cost, and finish a uniform

here that is both more affordable and attractive. I also constantly search

the world for new product ideas. We innovate - not imitate.

President and Owner of the Alexander Company .

In 1999 I established The Alexander Company of Dalton as a mail order

business that supplied carpet stores and carpet work shops with carpet and

rug related supplies. The first year in business, our gross sales were

$76,000. All of these sales were made by establishing a business

relationship that started with a "telemarketing" call. My wife and I made

the phone calls, and I developed and sent out sales kits to prospective new

customers.

Two years later, our gross sales were $1.7 million dollars. We were placing

ads in periodicals related to the floor covering industry, and I had

branched out into supplying the major carpet and rug manufactures with all

sorts of sewing supplies. Within 3 years, the Alexander Company of Dalton

had become the number one supplier of rug finishing supplies to the carpet

industry in Dalton.

I developed new products that were better suited to the industry. I began

sourcing and importing all sorts of supplies and materials. I traveled to

and developed business relationships with several different countries. I

feel that I have always been gifted in the sales/purchasing area. I made

successful contracts in such countries as China, India, Egypt, Thailand,

Turkey, Belgium, and Mexico.

Vice President of Freddie Richmond Company:

From 1985 - 1998 I was employed by Freddie Richmond Company. I started as a

shipping clerk/ truck driver. The company had only 6 employees at this

time. Taking the initiative, I made changes to make the plant more

profitable and efficient. I started with the most basic of changes, and

through out the following years, reworked the company to make it more

vertically integrated and profitable. Although the company had more than 40

employees, I made every management decision. Sales, purchasing, product

sourcing, product development, quality control, collections, and

negotiating contracts with companies abroad - I wore every hat with

distinction. I brought forth changes that restructured the company from a

small, family business into a thriving company with multi-million dollar

sales.

I developed people skills and knowledge that cannot be taught in any

college, since I have a life time's exposure to the carpet and rug

industry.

While my experienced is based on textile manufacturing, the same problems,

situations, need for an instant solution, ability to quickly access any

situation... applies to every administrative position. I am very adaptable,

skilled with languages, and have a broad and complete knowledge how and

what makes a business successful.

Thank You,

Michael G. Richmond Non Smoker/non drinker
