Achievements:
. Identified and implemented cost reduction efforts totaling over $600,000
within 9 months. Assessed current supply chain base and sourced or re-
sourced materials to achieve required cost reductions. This required
significant data review and analysis which provided a baseline to make
strategic sourcing decisions. Results: Over $230,000 in cost reductions
were identified in one product line. Over $600,000 in annual savings
realized.
. Achieved order visibility for customer base within 6 weeks in an extreme
past due situation. Successfully eliminated past due orders within 4
weeks for 50% of customers. Achieved by analyzing current processes,
identifying root causes, and developing / implementing corrective
actions. This process included creating an excellent working
relationship with the customer and internal associates. Results:
Successfully identified and eliminated all past due orders within 12
weeks.
. Implemented successful launch of MRP module within MFG PRO eb2 system
within 8 weeks. Assessed current process of scheduling production and
ordering raw materials. Analyzed historical sales data and current
status of MRP setup and use within MFG PRO. Identified data
discrepancies and process shortfalls then developed a new process for
creating a production plan. Redesigned the MRP system setup and
functionality to fit business goals and objectives. Results: Successful
launch of season pre-build. Reduction of overall overtime by 80% through
first six months of the season compared to previous year. Reduced
finished goods inventory more than $1 million within the first 8 months
of season.
. Redesigned process for updating Production Plan forecasts. Assessed
current process and observed significant improvement opportunities.
Evaluated the necessary and unnecessary components of the process.
Redesigned the documents / charts and communication process to Executive
Management. Results: Reduced preparation time by more than 200 man-
hours annually. This project ultimately reduced communication meetings
to Executive Management in half.
. Initiated centralization of company-wide NAFTA / AALA reporting. The
reports to the federal government of NAFTA & AALA requirements were in a
state of disconnection. As a result, I was given the challenge to
centralize the data collection process and submit reports to the federal
government. Results: After initial analysis, a central file of all
documents for all customers requiring NAFTA certificates and AALA
certification was created. Corrected previously miscoded products
resulting in tariff reductions for the customer. Developed and maintain
procedures for correct coding of parts and documentation requirements
based on federal guidelines.
. Identified an annual cost avoidance opportunity of $913,000 to recover
funds credited to customer for carrier damages. Assessed amount of
credits issued to customer base due to freight damage. Created an
awareness of the amount of freight damages being incurred and assisted in
the development of a process to recuperate the credits from the carriers.
