COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES
I have served on Boards of various non-profit and governmental agencies including the Durham
Farmers' Market Board of Directors, the Durham County Animal Control Advisory Board, and
the North Carolina Task Force to Abolish Animal Fighting. This volunteer work has provided me
with invaluable experience in organizing and facilitating meetings, solving difficult problems,
making public presentations, presenting training sessions, working with the media, developing a
team, learning to lead, and writing policies, press releases, and speeches.
