Logistics / Location Manager
Managed all aspects of the Ryder Logistics operations for the Xerox Central
Products Distribution Center located in Groveport, OH. This Center ships
and receives shipments worldwide of Document Center products to and from
Xerox customers and suppliers.
( Provided just-in-time shipment scheduling/loading of Xerox orders with
Ryder Transportation and outside carriers for maximum customer service
level and on-time deliveries.
( Responsible for budgets, safety, and optimum customer service goals and
objectives for Ryder Logistics and Xerox Corporation.
( Administrative responsibilities for all Ryder employee compliance with
DOT, regulatory, OSHA, safety, payroll and HR requirements at the CPDC.
( Ensured adequate Ryder employee staffing/scheduling support for the Xerox
CPDC operations to accommodate rapid changes in peak business volumes
throughout the year.
Note: My position was eliminated with a recent restructuring of Ryder
management at this facility.

Fleet Manager
I and K Distributors, Inc. is a food manufacturer and distributor of
consumer food products nationwide. Responsibilities:
( Negotiated contracts and rates for leasing/purchasing of all fleet
vehicles, fleet insurance, licensing, and permitting requirements.
( Budgetary responsibility for all purchased parts, supplies, and repairs
on all fleet vehicles.
( Set up and managed on-site fleet maintenance garage with 2 mechanics on
staff.
( Site Selection, contract negotiations for division offices/cross-dock
facilities, supplies and equipment. ( Compliance of all I&K CDL drivers
with DOT and other regulatory agencies.
( Scheduling Drivers and other employees to accommodate peak business
volumes, special sales promotions and sales events and holidays.

from the St. Louis Pasta plant rather than the Canadian and other

Managed fleet, transportation and garage operations for 3 bakeries and 19
distribution depots in Arizona, Nevada and California. Responsibilities
included fleet/garage budgets, DOT/safety and OSHA compliance.

arrangements for sales promotions.

Managed pasta plant/distribution center operations plus oversight for 2
third-party warehouses.
( Improved customer service level from 93% to above 98% through
implementing demand planning.
( Worked directly with customers to set up customer pickup programs and
customized sailing schedules.
( Reduced transportation costs by $190M per year through effective
negotiating of rates and services.
( Reduced third-party warehousing cost by $80M per year through effective
use of JIT / Material

Note: Borden Foods closed this plant as part of a major restructuring in
1999.

Nationwide responsibility for Borden Logistics Administration functions,
including freight payment/audit ($65MM), claims/customer deductions
($1.5MM), rates/tariffs, pallets ($3.0MM). Headed project teams for
packaging/load planning optimization projects, and cost containment /
reduction / outsourcing projects.
