provide storage solutions for all computing platforms, from desktop to
midrange and mainframe, including SANS.
. Installed a two-tier tape SAN at Bayer with one 9310 tape robot
installed onto a storage network with fibre tape drives and EMC disk,
and one 9310 tape robot installed onto a mainframe with Escon and
bus/tag tape drives.
. Designed, installed, maintained and upgraded all robotic tape and raid
disk solutions for large and small customers. Assisted in
successfully relocating Alcoa's North American Data Center. Managed
Alcoa's 100-server farm through Y2K. Installed a SAN with Storage Tek
9840 tape and Clariion RAID disk using Storage Tek fibre hubs, and
then migrating to Brocade switches.
. Maintained all NT and HP UX servers for Alcoa for three years. This
included over 100 servers and their Clariion storage, using Navisphere
software.
. Provided storage systems for hospitals for storing CAT scans, X-rays
and MRIs.
. Installed robotic tape in large mainframe shops using Escon attached
tape through Escon directors with tape drives attached to multiple
virtual machines.

as HPPI, FDDI, Ethernet routers and switches. Other vendors such as

. Installed and maintained the Pittsburgh portion of the Verizon
(formerly Bell Atlantic) channel extension network that covered most
of the East Coast, from Boston to Richmond.
. This network uses T1 and T3 links running multiple protocols,
including TCP/IP and Hyperchannel.
. Installed the Hyperchannel network at Bettis labs, to connect the Cray
Ymp, then later the Cray C-90 to the switched FDDI network. At Bettis,
Also assisted the installation at the HPPI network.
. Installed a Hyperchannel network at PNC Bank and Mellon Bank. These
were Escon-attached to IBM mainframes, providing connectivity to
diverse platforms such as Stratus, DEC, and Tandem.
