The Hartford, Minneapolis, MN, July 2005 to December 2009

IT Project Manager

Implement technical solutions to improve business and customer productivity. Duties

include gathering technical and business requirements, develop project scope,

identifying and managing project costs, deliverables, milestones, risks, and

business impacts. Manage project teams consisting of cross functional members from

the technical, application and business areas. Teams ranged in size from 15 to 40

team members.

Projects include:

Implementation of telephony and call recording technologies into multiple call

centers for the Mutual Funds and Life Insurance divisions.

Build out of VMWare server infrastructure to host various company applications in an

effort to lower total cost of ownership of infrastructure

Implementation of WAN Optimization technology to improve performance of remotely

accessed applications, files and databases

Application platform migration of the company's primary life insurance

administration system. The effort required migrating over 200 application

environments from the desktop to a Citrix platform

Implementation of Weblogic instances with a SQL database for hosting newly developed

sales tools for the Individual Life Sales division

Implementation of a WMQI solution for the Life Insurance division

Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery - Working with business project teams, the

goal of the project was to bring together both infrastructure and business

requirements and develop a comprehensive recovery plan. I was responsible for

managing all technical deliverables for the project including implementation of

failover strategies for business critical platforms, development and implementation

of a comprehensive voice recovery plan for each business group, conduct and

participate in disaster recovery drills, testing and simulation exercises.

NT Domain to Active Directory migration - The project required migration of all

servers and pc's at the company's insurance service center. Provided detailed

communication plans to ensure minimal disruption to customers. Coordination of

piloting and implementation phases between technical engineering teams and key

customer contacts.

Other projects and initiatives include: Project Management Office lifecycle process

development, multiple email server/client upgrade projects, deployment of wireless

technology to mobile sales teams, server and storage expansion projects based on

customer needs, departmental integration and transition projects due to

organizational changes.

Hartford Life, Minneapolis, MN, July 1999 to July 2005

Technical Designer

Build/Configuration Engineer: Developed technical workflow and source code migration

processes based on the Software Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.

Collaborated on the development and implementation of project requests and

break/fix/issues solutions for the Business Offices and Project Management

Office(PMO). Developed and managed source code libraries for the primary and

supporting insurance applications. Managed over 200 development, testing and model

office environments for the Quality Assurance teams. Implemented a website for

version, build, metric reporting and issue management. Sarbanes-Oxley process

controls development and support.

Business Continuation/Disaster Recovery Technical Lead: Technical liaison between

Project Management Office(PMO) and IT to develop recovery solutions for survival,

mission and business critical applications. Managed technology resources,

facilitated meetings and worked with individual teams to develop disaster recovery

strategies. Coordinated and planned disaster recovery testing.

Senior Systems Support Analyst

NT server administration and support. Network setup. Domino, SMS and IIS server

implementation, management and support. Development and maintenance of backup

solutions for NT and Unix platforms. Development of highly available solutions for

disaster recovery systems.
