My fifteen years of management has helped lower costs, and improve customer

satisfaction. With the well rounded approach of knowing all aspects of the business, I

was able to effectively work with vendors, employees, and customers to help the business

grow into a large competitor.

2005-Present

Vice President of Repair Operations, EMS Industrial Inc.,

I manage three locations, improved quality, and consistency at all locations. This

was accomplished by providing procedures for testing, and repairing of electro-

mechanical equipment. This assured our customers that no matter where the item was

repaired the high quality repair would be the same. This allowed us to provide better

delivery times by having the work done where there was enough man hours available to

complete the jobs on time.

My strengths in working with the other officers in the company have helped all of

the employees work together towards the goal of being a major competitor in our

industry. This type of team leadership has all of our departments are working as a team

to provide the best products on time, keeping our customer satisfaction higher than our

competition.

My knowledge of our customer products, enabled me setup our computer system

to track their repair from start to finish. I setup procedures to control quality during the

repair, with reports documenting each step for our customers. Through the knowledge of

the products we sell and how we handle our customers, I was involved in writing the

policy and procedures for all of the computer processes. This led me into developing a

quality assurance policy

From working with our suppliers I have been able to improve the quality of

materials used in our products and repairs by using the latest technology to improve our

products over the competitors. This allowed for me to negotiate with vendors and lower

our material costs by 30%.

With the knowledge of the industries I have earned the trust from our owner to

design our 40,000 sq/ft manufacturing facility, to make it the most efficient for work flow

improving employee efficiency by 30%. The clean layout makes the building easy to

maintain, and with the addition of the right equipment inside, the new facility provides

the (Wow) factor that impresses every customer that takes a tour of our facility.

1995-2005

Repair Manager, EMS Industrial Inc.

The multi location pushed me to become more aware of other industries to

service. I created centralized purchasing to control the quality of products being used in

all locations. I implemented the new procedures to the branch locations to improve

quality throughout the company. Provided training to all of the employees in each branch

to assure they were following procedures and documenting each test result.

Provided service to customers to improve their equipment, and get them up and

running. The experience with electromechanical equipment, PLC programming, and

motor control centers enable me to help customers from all industries become more

efficient and profitable.

Improved company profitability by upgrading the building with new lighting that

lowered the utility bills by $600.00 per month while increasing the light in the building

from 15 light candles per foot to 29 light candles per foot. This improvement also

boosted employee morale and quality of work.

Specified and negotiated for the new phone system, to improve customer service.

I also installed and setup new computer software to process repairs, sales orders,

purchase orders, and reports to keep track of how profitable each repair is. This

improved efficiency of each employee by simplifying data entry and processing of

paperwork.

1993-1995

Repair Technician, EMS Industrial Inc.

Repaired AC/DC motors, gearboxes, and controls via hands on training for many

industries serviced. This was in the shop and on-site at customers facilities providing

many opportunities to work with the customers and gain their trust to get them running as

fast as possible.

1990-1995

Control Panel Engineer and Panel Supervisor, EMS Industrial Inc.

Designed control panels, and upgraded existing panels for customers on machines.

This included PLC programming, VFD setup, and relay controls to provide complete

monitoring of the machine while it is running. Wrote standards for panel setup, wiring

and CAD drawings to insure every panel is built with quality. Provided training to all

new employees, teaching them the proper wiring standards, and how to check and test

each panel. I worked with Underwriters Laboratories to become a U.L. listed panel

builder, enabling us to build panels that would be accepted in any industry.

1990-1993

Inside sales, EMS Industrial Inc.

I worked with customers tracking down new products that they needed, providing

technical support on how to install and maintain the items we sell. With customers

looking to use fewer vendors I located vendors to help our company become a complete

supplier to our customers.

1984-1988

Managed Family Dairy Farm,

This was my first chance to improve a business, by lowering feed costs while

increasing production. This was accomplished by harvesting crops when they were at

their prime, and taking good care of the cattle. I selected the cattle to breed and improved

the type of animal produced. This provided animals that were well built, for longevity,

and production. By working hard and taking good care of the animals I improved the

herd by 23% in production. My biggest accomplishment was having my parent’s debt

free, before I left for college.
