ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Michelin North America Inc.
. Increased productivity and reduced the average time taken to complete
jobs from 42 to 31 hours, by improving work methods and collaborating
with the global support group for model enhancements.
. Reduced tooling costs by approximately $25 thousand per year and reduced
time to select tooling to 50% of original time required. Redesigned and
automated tolerance constraints to allow more flexibility and greater
accuracy in tooling selection.
. Key player in the success of a global material standardization and cost
reduction project estimated to save over $800K on a yearly basis.
Organized material testing collected and analyzed historical mold
durability data.
. Led a project study to determine potential cost-savings of approximately
$1.5 million through the reduction of outsourced tasks. Supervised a 5
member multi-zone team to analyze financials, production capacity
scenarios, and technical challenges to determine feasibility.
. Received inclusion to NABU, a companywide program for promising
employees.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Michelin North America Inc., Greenville, South Carolina 2005 -
Present
MATRICE DESIGN RUL (responsible on location North America) (2007-Present)
. Develops best practices and provides technical assistance to other zones
(France, Poland, and Asia) for mold technologies developed in North
America.
. Serves as Mold Design and Manufacturing Representative for major tire
launches. Estimate costs, provides mold manufacturing capacity and
scenario planning, for mold cost/time to market optimization.
. Tests and validates new and upgraded models and software. Primary Catia
troubleshooter and responsible for notifying Global Design Network and
Support Group.
. Serves as the First Point of Contact (FPOC) for research design groups.
. Use technical expertise to determine root causes and solutions to
manufacturing quality issues for North American molds sourced from North
American and Asian mold plants.
. Implemented the Michelin manufacturing quality system in the design
group. Enabled the group to meet aggressive quality goals in 2008 and
2009.
. Worked with plant and tire engineers to employ creative venting and part
reuse solutions, therefore reducing manufacturing costs for a key
tireline maintenance and improvement project.
. Redesigned MS Access database system for more accurate job tracking and
lead-time predictions while automating calculations of monthly
indicators.
. Wrote and maintained instructions for the mold design process. Led a
local project to update and improve documentation content and storage.
