2002 - 2003

Managed case load of approximately sixty client files consisting primarily
of insurance defense cases. Relevant bodies of law included torts,
commercial litigation, and personal injury. I also handled a significant
number of business-related issues and plaintiff cases. Relevant duties
included depositions, drafting of pleas, attending hearings, and trying
small claims cases.
1983 - 2002
National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak)
Foreman III/Interim Manager of Amtrak's General Electric Locomotive
Contract
Monitored General Electric's compliance with the Company's locomotive
maintenance contract, tracked equipment failures, and insured liquidated
damages were paid as contractually required.
Supervisor of In-sourcing/Contract Administrator
Developed bid packages for the overhaul of rail passenger equipment as part
of Company's effort to open up new profit lines. The position required
interaction with vendors to purchase material at a competitive price. Once
bids were accepted, I monitored project progress to ensure milestones were
met; negotiated change orders; and assured contract compliance by all
parties.
Payroll Supervisor
Supervised six payroll clerks responsible for entering time card data for
more than 1000 employees. I also assisted with implementing a computer
based Work Management Program that reduced the number of man-hours required
to run the department.
Production Supervisor
Supervised the daily activities of twenty to forty production employees who
were responsible for over-hauling and maintaining Amtrak passenger
equipment. This included development and implementation of workflow
processes necessary to meet deadlines and maintenance of quality standards.
I also developed Bills of Material for various product lines to facilitate
delivery of parts necessary to maintain the equipment.
Chemical Control Foreman
Monitored chemical usage throughout the plant and developed procedures for
the safe handling of chemical products. Responsible for company's
compliance with relative OSHA and EPA regulations, and provided employees
with training regarding the same.
Safety Coordinator
Responsible for compliance, training, and documentation related to all
areas of work place safety. Also investigated accidents in the work place,
conducted Job Safety Analysis and developed procedures to prevent future
accidents.
Electrician
Responsible for the wiring, modification, and maintenance of Amtrak
passenger equipment and facility maintenance.
1996-1997
Haskin Lauter Cohen and LaRue
During a layoff at Amtrak in 1996-1997, I worked as a law clerk for a firm
specializing in employment discrimination. I assisted the senior partner
by handling a caseload of approximately forty (40) Plaintiff's cases, most
of which involved Title VII, ADA, and ADEA claims.
