process all of the amazon.com, amazon services and transactions from other
websites hosted and run by amazon (target.com etc.. ).

Responsibility in end Q1 07, # of registrations in Q1 08 were 120 times
the registrations in Q1 07.
2. Grew GMS by 20 times from Dec 06 to Dec 08.
4. 3P :Signed up and trained 45 dedicated Development partners to resell
and support WebStore By Amazon.
5. Engineering :
1. Built a self service product with 1-click e-commerce site setup
feature used by 1000s of merchants with over 10s of thousands sites
launched.
2. Zero Severity-1 events in last 14 months.
** UCI Irvine, Paul Merage School of Business, MBA class of 2008 used
WebStore By Amazon as the main product to teach and experiment with Web
2.0. Worked closely with John Seely Brown, Amazon Board Member to make
this a success.
** This initiative drove SOA adoption at Amazon.com significantly. The
platform was architected to drive maximum reuse of existing services that
were powering the amazon.com site.

Was responsible for influencing Amazon Services core platform strategy to
support external 3P partners. While each of the services owners who
comprise the amazon platform had their own goals, my role was to primarily
influence across the organization to design systems in ways such that they
do not just support the amazon.com website but also support the various 3P
partners who were helping merchants selling on amazon.com or using amazon
technology to power their own sites. Was also responsible for interfacing
with these partners to collect their needs and design workarounds and
implement long term strategic solutions for them. Hired and Lead a team of
6 including 3 Technical Program / Product Managers, 3 Sr Software Engineers
and a tech writer. This role was very strategic to the company and laid the
foundation stone for many of the core architectural decision when designing
the webstore by Amazon product.

through a stressful Q4 in 2004 without major holiday issues from these
systems. Then made strategic changes to the underlying system post

Conceptualized and developed the alpha version of a cutting edge BPEL4WS
based Process Orchestration Engine and Builder tool for providing Service

Role:
Defined the overall vision of the product line and established the
product line architecture. I worked closely with the engineering team in
establishing the development processes. Was instrumental in
Institutionalizing component-oriented development processes and
establishing development standards and guidelines. Made strategic decisions
on choice of platforms, technology, tools and methodologies for development
and testing.

Project: Responsible for Automating Bioinformatics and other Process
Pipelines across the company.
CERES is a Plant Genetics R&D company with a lot of process pipelines that
were essentially islands of systems stitched through manual intervention.
Automating these pipelines involved efforts to integrate various legacy
systems developed in a multitude of technologies and platforms. J2EE based
Web Services was the best suited platform for this effort.
Also developed routine IT projects using the Business Rule Engine VERSATA
LOGIC SERVER FOR CORBA and EJB. Also used other J2EE Application servers
for these projects.

Versata developed Business Rule Engines for J2EE AppServers which automated
the development of J2EE components (Session Beans, Entity Beans, JSP pages
Web Services). As Director Engineering I was responsible for development of
several of their core products from MRD/ PRD stage to GA. Delivered the
Versata product ranges for WebLogic / WebSphere and VisiBroker products.
Was also responsible for the total JSP based client product Lines at
Versata (both at the Architect level and at the Engineering Management
Level.).This was based on STRUTS.
I also setup their India Development Center and was also Managing
Director, Versata India Development Center. Hired and lead a bar raising
Engineering team of 45 and delivered various core products for Versata.
Managed complete budget for Indian operations working directly with the CFO
for this.
