ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Organized, trained, supervised, and performed troubleshooting of DNA

sequencer core facility, thereby facilitating cooperative use by anywhere from
nine to 12 different laboratories, and 15 to 20 individuals at any given time.
Directed the start-up and organization of a General Clinical Research Center
ADMINISTRATION
(GCRC) laboratory. Together with the architect, project manager and
contractors, designed a stand alone laboratory with location on a general
hospital floor. Planned for and procured state of the art equipment to fit within
an unusual floor plan.
Was a panelist and presenter of biotechnology programs to community college

Organized and hosted three to five day FDA regulatory compliance training

EXPERIENCE
Primary Caregiver/Executrix, August, 2007 to present. Returned to the New York Pennsylvania
area to provide care for widowed father. Helped father obtain a reverse mortgage and change
health care provider coverage. Provided care, supervision of medications, etc. Executrix of
estate, responsible for sale and distribution of assets.
Program Coordinator, Biotech Education and Training, 2004 to July, 2007, Lakeland Community
College, Kirtland, Ohio Instituted a portable laboratory system for hands-on training for school
students. Instituted the first collaboration in the country between a community college and AAMI
(Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation) to host courses in FDA regulatory
compliance for medical device companies. Consulted in start-up of a biotech program in a
college and Career Center.
Department Manager, 2003 to 2004, The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, Ohio
Managed the start-up of the new General Clinical Research Center (GCRC). Responsible for
efficient design layout of limited laboratory area. Researched and implemented a lab tracking
system for specimens, which included bar coding, and limited lab information system
capabilities. Duties included interviewing principal investigators in order to determine the needs
of their research projects.
Senior/ Lead Research Technologist, 1996 to 2003, The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland,
Ohio Increased seniority in various laboratories performing different molecular biology
techniques.
Laboratory Director, 1989 to 1996, Case Western Reserve University, (and Department of
Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center) Cleveland, Ohio. Directed start-up of a molecular biological
and immunohistochemical laboratory. Trained and supervised research assistants, graduate
students, medical students, post-doctoral fellows, and visiting medical doctors. Developed and
implemented laboratory policies and research procedures. Aided in the research, writing and
submission of scientific articles and grants. Performed employee interviews and evaluations as
warranted.
