Experience Highlights 3/81 - 10/09:
1981-1993 U.S. Navy (Interior Communications)
I served on one Guided Missile Destroyer, three Aircraft Carriers, and
one Mine Sweep. My duties in the communication field, Navigational
systems, Telephone switches, Sound power phones, and SATCOM satellite
communications. The departments that I was in charge of was
Telephones shop, Sound power shop, I supervised the SATCOM satellite
shop. I was certified in Logistics and Management. We specialized in
hard to get items and high dollar items for the fleet.
1993-1995 Harris Corporation Fort Belvoir VA (LAN/WAN Installation
Manager/Supervisor)
We installed an OC-12 and integrated it into the SL-100 Nortel switch
with four nodes. Cisco 7000 routers were the preferred main routers
for this project. There were servile other smaller brands of Cisco
routers used throughout the project. The system to date is up graded
to an OC-96 and more.
1995-1999 APT Inc. Virginia Beach VA (Telecommunication Manager)
I managed the telecommunications department, which also included
marketing. I marketed many government agencies and some commercial
accounts. Was the manager of the department responsible for installing
the AT&T / Lucent super PBXs and switches for the Navy. Responsible
for traveling out of the area to supervise several Government
contracts installations for LAN/WAN Projects for the Army Corps of
Engineering and various others. Installed and monitored Video
Conferencing for Ft.Eustis Army Base as well as NASA.
2000 - Present Professional Integrated Communications Inc.
Since 2000 I have focused on cabling backbone infrastructure and
certification, which was more practical for the businesses still
operating off of insufficient backbones. I have been servicing small
businesses installing, programming various telecommunication and
electronic equipment. I install and service Avaya/Lucent and other
brands of telecommunication systems. I shifted my focus to back bone
infrastructure to help inside plant cabling systems keep up with the
high speed demand that the routers, switches, various computers are
demanding at the end user. I install SIPERNET and NIPERNET cabling
according to specifications for Seymour Johnson Air Force base fighter
squadron head quarters. SIPERNET and NIPERNET are for very secure
telephoning and networking applications. I design cable paths and
cable routes for J-hooks, cable trays and conduit. I also design cable
paths in ceilings, in concrete and raised floors. I also focused on
technologies that show value in meeting the full spectrum of
communications, physical and cyber security threats to corporate and
government organizations. This is where multi-modal biometric
identification, intelligent surveillance, campus security solutions,
logical control access solutions, and sound proofing, bullet proofing,
and blast proofing materials are used and installed.
