Dear Hiring Manager,
I am sending my resume to you to be considered for employment with your company. A
position with your company will fit very well with my education, experience and career
interest. I believe that I can bring the skills and experience that will prove to be a great
benefit. I have experience running instrumentations such as HPLC, GC, UV-VIS, and
AA. I have several years experience working in a lab environment. I worked as a
Metallurgical Lab Tech at a manufacturing plant where quality assurance was my job
requirement. I tested steel bearings to ensure that they met customer satisfaction, and I
released conforming parts to the manufacturing area. I identified non-conforming parts
and made sure they did not go to the next processing step. I checked the concentration
and/or ph of processing solutions throughout the plant. I instructed the operators to make
adjustments to the solutions as needed and I kept proper documentation of all data. I was
also responsible for the preventative maintenance and calibration verification of all
testing equipment.
In August 2007 I graduated with a BS in Mathematics and in May 2006 I graduated with
a BS in Chemistry, both from Francis Marion University in Florence, South Carolina. I
have taken a number of Chemistry courses, and I am sure that the education that I have
received along with my work experience has prepared me for this position. I have
experience preparing solutions, and able to make adjustments to the solutions as needed
to maintain the controlled spec range. I am able to prepare reports of laboratory data. I
have experience reading and following ISO standards. I also established work
instructions that follow ISO standards. I am knowledgeable of proper lab safety
techniques. I am also computer literate with several years of experience using several
different applications. If given an opportunity I am confident that I will be a great
addition to your company.
I have attached my resume for reviewing more information concerning how my education
and experiences can meet the needs of this position.
I welcome an opportunity to come in for an interview where I can provide further
information about myself. I can be reached by phone at 803-***-**** or by email at
abmaij@r.postjobfree.com.
Sincerely,
Shameka L. Murphy
