present). Contract development at Microsoft - largely focused on data
mining and web-based presentation, using SQL Server and .Net.
Software Architect / VP of Product Development, U-Bridge Technologies, Inc,
Seattle, WA. (1999-2001). The project for this start-up business uses 3 ASP-
based web sites connected to an Oracle backend to capture rich,
unstructured contact information, deliver a fully personalized client
installation, an n-tier back end to service these as well as the high-
performance (projected 200+ million sessions daily), XML-based N-tier
encrypted and compressed web service communications backbone. The
architecture takes advantage of proven best-of-breed technologies,
including NT, ASP, Oracle, linux, XML, http.
Database Architect, Corbis Corporation, Bellevue, WA. (Nov. 1998 - March,
1999). Designed and developed an internal database that bridged the
databases of the Corbis production systems to the Corbis online sites.
This is a pure SQL Server system.

Designed an XML-centric data integration system using 3rd party mapping,
MSMQ, VB-based Businesses Objects, and working with a SQL back-end.
Solutions Architect, AiC, Bellevue WA. (1998) Designed and developed a web-
based project management system that both captured all the project
documentation, but also managed the project process and tracked progress
toward goals (ASP / SQL).
Solutions Architect, Excell Data Corporation, Bellevue WA. (1995-1998)
Developed the recruiting system for the Excell web site; mentored
development of the employee time sheet entry web site. Designed the Web-
based research document production system for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer
Research Center project proposal (Microsoft TechNet, August 1997, Using an
Intranet to Publish Complex Data). Designed a web-based customer support
system for the Microsoft International Support System.
Lead Architect, Excell Data Corp, at Starbucks, Inc., Seattle WA. (1995-
1996). Produced the design and supervised development and testing for the
next generation retail POS system for Starbucks. Implemented a proprietary
TCP/IP-based inter-process communication system to enhance system
performance. Designed a communications port management system to enable
non-preemptive sharing of the communications port. Designed and built a
forms-based extension to the email system to deliver simple survey
capability.
Manager of Clinical Product Development, Care Computer Systems, Inc.,
Bellevue, WA. (1991-1995). Working manager of a ten-person department of
national-scale LTC software vendor; overseeing the update-release for 20+
products; overseeing the design, development & release of eight new
products. Created systems for automated distribution, bug-tracking and
automated regression testing; developed several special-purpose languages
for report production. Designed and began development of a radical new
proprietary 4GL, including significant C++ coding to create the compiler
for this product.
Senior Software Engineer, HealthWare Corporation, Seattle, WA (1986-1991).
For start-up maker of patient database management systems: software
design/development/maintenance using QuickBASIC and "C"; created a bar-code
scanner-based nursing input information system. Designed and created a
source code control system, headed team developing Windows-hosted patient
management system.
Software Product Development Manager/Founder, Interlinq Software
Corporation, Bellevue, WA (1983-1986). Manage, design, develop product
line for national $3 million / ten-office vendor of highly successful
mortgage loan production and tracking software. Lead ten-member design and
development team, provided engineering/management liaison. Designed and
coded significant parts of the nation's first successful microcomputer-
based loan origination/production software system, initially in dBASE, then
in "C", in use by major lenders, mortgage and real-estate companies
nationwide.
