After taking a voluntary separation from my previous employer in January 2009 to concentrate on
finishing my Bachelor's degree, I would like to return to work in a financial management position
where I can utilize my fourteen years of experience in financial closing and reconciliation, group
consolidation (including international subsidiaries), and financial reporting and analysis. I would also
utilize my expertise in developing, implementing, and automating financial systems, strategies,
processes and controls that drive efficiency and productivity leading to significant cost savings. Proven

Review monthly operating results of all thirty one global plants and consolidate results for final review
by Product Group Controller prior to submission to corporate. Prepare Monthly Operating Review
presentation for Product Group including completion of walkforwards from monthly forecast and
original yearly budget. Compile and review monthly trend data prior to weekly meetings with Product
Group Operating Committee and Regional Managers. Track audit issue remediation status and assist
plants in resolving. Perform Management 404 Reviews according to SOX requirements. Perform
accounting policy, procedures, and system training for plant controllers which included international

Financial Analyst, 1/2004 to 4/2006
Responsible for the finance functions for two smaller plants including general ledger activities, financial
analysis and reporting, capital expenditure review and approval, monthly trend forecasting, and yearly
budget preparation. At the division level, I was responsible for the finance functions of the North
America division office which also included warranty and trailing liabilities of several closed plants.
Responsibilities also included the review and consolidation of financial data for our eleven North
America operations. I would also take on short term assignments to fill open Controller positions and
train new Controllers once hired which typically ranged from two to four months.
Major accomplishments:
• Coordinating the completion of SOX Documentation requirements for the NA plants to ensure
consistency and compliance
• Establishing a warranty liability model based on OEM and model year statistical data instead of
using a straight percent of sales
• Development of an operating results data verification tool that allowed the division to resolve plant
accounting errors prior to final submission to corporate

Accounting Analyst, 9/2002 – 12/2003
The sale of the leasing/financing subsidiary Dana Commercial Credit gave me an opportunity to learn
the manufacturing side of Dana. My responsibilities as an Accounting Analyst included standard
costing, journal entries, and account reconciliations. I also assisted the Financial Analyst with financial
analysis and reporting, physical inventories, monthly trend forecasting, and yearly budget preparation
for two plants and the division office.

Responsible for accounting/tax domain requirements in the design, testing, and implementation of
a new leasing system developed in conjunction with software consultants from Thoughtworks, Inc.
Led the Business Team Leaders in the test script writing and reporting tracks for all domains.

functionality requirements after struggling with the process for close to a year
• Process mapped the card functionality and reporting processes

As Senior Accounting Analyst, I was responsible for directing the department to ensure accurate
and timely completion of activities through collaborative efforts. Department morale was
heightened by coordinating team building activities. As Accounting Manager, I assisted the
Controller with yearly budget preparations and took on the additional responsibility of managing
the accounts payable department. I also focused on continuous improvement and accountability
through process mapping activities. System expert responsible for security review, submitting
programming requests, testing system upgrades, implementations, and training.

• Hiring a Cost Analyst to implement activity based costing and restructuring the general ledger
to allow for P&L Reports by customer program which exposed an unprofitable program that
was subsequently sold

I began my career at Dana as an Accounting Intern and was offered a full time position as an Accounting
Analyst prior to graduation due to my exceptional performance. As an intern, I designed and
implemented a semi-automated formal account reconciliation process. As an Accounting Analyst, I was
responsible for lease transaction accounting including rebooking and restructuring contracts, personal
property tax filings, calculating customer end of lease options, general ledger entries, account
reconciliations, monthly/quarterly/yearly financial reporting, and other analytical duties.

• Establishing and documenting formal procedures for the accounting department to streamline the
process assist with training, and address audit issues. These formal procedures were instrumental in
helping the company win the 1996 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.
Additional work experience prior to entering the accounting profession includes leadership positions at
Taco Bell as a shift manager then assistant manager; administrative positions at U.S. Sales Corporation
(out of business in 2001), Ohio Department of Youth Services-Maumee Youth Center (closed in 2001),
and the YWCA of Greater Toledo; and, retail position at Sears.
