Quality Assurance Engineering Manager 1999-2012

Led other engineers in the corporate quality assurance department.

Scheduled, coordinated, and conducted quality audits at various

manufacturing locations and of suppliers of purchased services. Held

responsibility for the administration of a customer complaint system,

including reviewing complaints, analyzing data, and formulating reports.

Served as a member of the corporate quality committee, developing an agenda

for monthly meetings as well as presenting reports on customer complaints,

in-plant quality issues, and supplier audit activities. Reviewed and

updated corporate documents, including purchase specifications, quality-

control procedures, and product-quality standards.

Developed and implemented an incoming inspections program for purchased

Quality Assurance Engineer 1987-1999

Served in quality audits at the company's manufacturing locations. Managed

a paper-based customer complaint system, including reviewing all

complaints, assigning computer codes for various aspects of complaints, and

entering the codes into a main-frame computer on a monthly basis, as well

as downloading data from the mainframe into a PC-based spreadsheet for

analysis and reporting. Organized and directed the development of a PC-

based customer complaint system that greatly simplified analysis and

reporting.

BE&K ENGINEERING COMPANY, Birmingham, Alabama, Mechanical Engineer, 1980-

1982. Performed a design analysis of mechanical systems for large

industrial plants. Held responsibility for the selection of all mechanical

equipment for the belt and chain conveyor systems. Wrote specifications

for the design of belt and chain conveyor systems. Developed an

engineering standards manual for the mechanical engineering department,

including design aids, drafting standards, and standard procedures.

Contributed to the development of in-house computer programs for

calculating belt conveyor motor horsepower and belt tensions for sizing

shafts for conveyor systems. Designed belt conveyors as well as vertical

curves for conveyors.

2) and performed the duties of communications officer and navigator, which
