Project Manager
Project Manager tasked with managing the project team's efforts to design,
build, test, and implement a new network to support B2B (Business to
Business) and Extranet supplier connections while migrating them to a new
disaster recovery site in Cincinnati, Ohio and the new extranet environment
located at the primary production site in Cleveland, Ohio.
Driven by Federal Reserve compliance requirements, this project required
that I negotiate directly with NCB's internal business owners as well as
their vendor population to facilitate the necessary changes.
University Hospitals, Cleveland, Ohio March, 2006 - December, 2007
Project Manager
The scope of the project called for the redesign of UH's entire network to
migrate the hospital to Cisco VoIP while meeting Cisco's Medical Grade
Network (MGN) standard.
My responsibilities were to perform discovery, design and implementation
activities migrating UH to a converged network for wired and wireless
environments with Voice, Data and Video sharing a single network
environment. The project installed more than 1,800 wireless access points
covering 26 locations, 4.4 Million Sq. Ft. of buildings and more than
12,000 Cisco VoIP phones.
Responsible for the review and validation of all system requirements for
voicemail, hard and soft phone usage and call center design. Lead the team
through the process to develop the proper dial plan to meet the hospital's
requirements. Developed the strategy to provide end-user training for all
University Hospital employees (8,000), along with the training collateral
from pocket guides to tent cards.
Designed the Day-2 support structure for the post-implementation
environment. Worked directly with Cisco engineers to develop the E911
requirements and the strategy for the rollout throughout the campus.
FirstMerit Bank, Akron, Ohio February, 2004- March, 2006

Responsibilities called for the analysis and support of the bank's
telecommunications environment and building the appropriate business and
technology plans to meet future bank requirements.
I conducted the negotiations, purchased and implemented a 210 agent Call
Center ACD (Aspect). This provided FirstMerit with a multi-media platform
for all of their future call center needs.
My responsibilities also included managing vendor relations and
negotiations of Long Distance service, PBX requirements, along with being
the primary point of contact for the SARCOM outsourced relationship.

2003
Senior Manager/ Consultant
As a Consultant, I managed all aspects of the Telecommunications
infrastructure of Sealy Mattress Co. - effectively a manager-level position
within that organization, reporting directly to the CIO. Leading a team of
12 network engineers and system administrators, I negotiated with vendors
and managed service level agreements along with performance commitments and
metrics.
. Working closely with Sealy's CEO and their Senior Management team, I
headed the project team assigned to move Sealy's World Headquarters
from Cleveland, Ohio to a newly constructed facility in North
Carolina. During this engagement, I was responsible for the selection,
design and implementation of a state of the art infrastructure
including an Avaya PBX, data networks and application systems that
helped Sealy meet their long-term corporate goal to stabilize costs. I
also wrote the financial and technical justifications to acquire all
equipment and services.
. Successfully designed and managed the implementation of a 28 location,
International Frame Relay network for Sealy, Inc.
. Successfully managed the project to upgrade the cabling infrastructure
at all 28 manufacturing plants for Sealy, Inc.
LTV Steel Co. Inc., Cleveland, Ohio 1985 - 1996
Staff Analyst (Telecommunications)
. While at LTV Steel, I was responsible for the daily operations of a
multi-state voice, data and video network. This required the support
of diverse business needs, ranging from Sales Offices and Corporate
Headquarters to a 24 hour/ 365 days Steel Mill Operation and a 24 hour
Call Center for IT support along with remote training facilities.
. Evaluated proposals from multiple vendors wrote and presented the
final recommendation to LTV's CEO for the $4,000,000 communications
consolidation and upgrade of the Corporate Headquarters and Steel Mill
Operation. Project managed the upgrade of the above locations from
Centrex and old legacy PBX technology to 3 Avaya IP enabled PBX's
totaling over 4,000 stations.
. Responsible for creating and implementing technology plans for LTV
Steel's Commercial Systems Department (Sales) during their Business
Process reorganization to SAP. Responsible for the identification of
emerging technologies to lower costs and increase productivity.
. Developed and presented long and short-term strategies for the
acquisition of capital equipment (PBX's, Servers, PC's, etc ;) and
voice and data network services to Senior Management.
