2004 - Present Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America

Manager, Customer Quality Engineering (since July'09)

. Manage and supervise the engineering group responsible for early

detection and early resolution of field issues (warranty, customer

satisfaction, service campaigns, recalls) for trucks and large SUVs

body and electrical systems.

. Coordinate activities with manufacturing and design groups to

identify root cause of field issues.

Manager, Supplier Quality Assurance & Development

. Manage and supervise the engineering group in charge of electronic

supplier quality assurance and development of high risk electronic

suppliers to all 6 Toyota's vehicle assembly plants in the US, Canada,

and Mexico.

. Successfully managed a $380,000 annual budget by achieving 95%

utilization.

. Implemented Toyota Production System to improve the operations of 4

suppliers in Mexico. Leading to a reduction of in-process defects

between 50% to 70%, and a 30% reduction of defects flowing out to

Toyota's plants.

. Accomplished successful plant moves from the US to Mexico for 3

different suppliers.

. Benchmarked the top electronics assembly plants in Japan and created

best practices audit and implementation system to deploy to US

suppliers. Applied to 14 different manufacturing plants in the US and

Mexico.

. Developed one supplier's system to improve its sub-suppliers; achieved

80% reduction in warranty costs from previous program.

. Managed the launch of the new generation engine computer for the best

selling Toyota model. Coordinated activities with Toyota's design

group in Japan, the supplier's design group in Singapore, and the

manufacturing plants in the US and Mexico.

Manager, Supplier Quality Assurance - Raw Materials (Steel &

Coatings)

. Responsible for the quality of paints and sealers used on all 6

vehicle manufacturing plants in US, Canada, and Mexico, with a total

annual production of about 1.4 million vehicles.

. Managed introduction of cutting edge environmentally friendly paint

technology to 2 vehicle plants.

. Coordinated production continuation at a sealer supplier during a

prolonged union strike at the supplier.

. Led a company-wide initiative aimed to improve quality and reliability

of Toyota's just-in-time (JIT) North American steel supply-chain.

Manager - Purchasing Strategy

. Developed system to quantify the impact of raw material price

fluctuations on vehicle cost.

. Led the development of a centralized purchasing system for steel and

resins achieving raw material cost savings of up to 50% for selected

small and medium suppliers.

. Coordinated a Kaizen activity of all purchasing core processes

(sourcing, pricing, supplier relations). Used best practices from

Japan's office to identify gaps. Implemented buyers training plans for

plastic parts, and steel commodities.

2000-2002 Intel Corporation, Chandler, AZ

Manager - Manufacturing Technology Development

. Managed a team of 15 engineers and technicians in charge of developing

the next generation soldering manufacturing processes for Intel's

microprocessors.

. Led $35M in equipment selection and qualification for Intel's global

semiconductor packaging operations in Costa Rica, Malaysia, and

Philippines.

. Led the successful development of the first high volume flip-chip

assembly process with lead-free solder for Intel's CPU products.

. Led the development and transfer of copy-exactly flip-chip assembly

process to manufacturing sites in Philippines, Costa Rica and

Malaysia. As the lead engineer, I ensured we met yield goals, process

stability, capability, and matching across 4 manufacturing sites.

. Led a team of engineers and scientists to develop a high-volume

manufacturing process for a novel thermal interface solution to cool a

new generation of microprocessors.

1999-2000 Sr. Engineer - Connector Development

. Coordinated the efforts of materials, design, and supplier management

engineers to design and qualify an ultra-low-profile connector for

Mobile CPU Products meeting all performance goals.

1998-1999 Yield Integration Engineer - Flip-Chip Semiconductor Packaging

. Managed the task force responsible for addressing the most important

yield issue during the development of the flip-chip pin grid-array

packaging technology. Coordinated, and prioritized the activities of a

cross-functional team of 15 engineers and scientists on an extremely

tight schedule to meet yield targets, and enabling on-time product

launch. Awarded, as task force leader, the Division recognition for

"Results orientation and quality."

1988-1994 Talbot S.A. Classic Car Reconstruction Caracas, Venezuela

. Reconstruction of classic cars such as: 1957 Mercedes 300 SL Gull-

wing, 1954 MG TF, 1964 Porsche 356 SC, 1965 Mustang Fastback, and 1954

Chrysler Fire Arrow (concept car).
