excellent academic credentials and broad legal knowledge and experience, including management of all sizes
and types of cases in various areas of law. I am loyal, dedicated and have the work ethic to accomplish tasks
timely and efficiently. I am comfortable either managing my own caseload or working as part of a team. My
goal is always to achieve the client’s objective through creation of a high quality work product.
EXPERIENCE
1997-2006 CORBETT, STEELMAN & SPECTER, Irvine, CA– Of Counsel
During my time at Corbett, Steelman & Specter, I have handled, managed and participated in an extremely
broad range of business litigation matters including the prosecution or defense of environmental, tobacco,
real estate, fraud, accounting malpractice, insurance defense, supplier/distributor, franchise, bankruptcy and
employment litigation cases as well as all varieties of contract disputes and general business law. Over the
last several years, I successfully represented an employment personnel agency in an action involving civil
RICO and trade secret claims, was one of the principal attorneys representing a public technology company
suing a national accounting firm for malpractice, assisted in drafting numerous appellate court briefs for the
California Court of Appeal and California Supreme Court on a well-publicized case involving First
Amendment issues, represented a principal in civil and bankruptcy court in an ownership dispute over
formerly one of Orange County’s largest taxicab companies, represented the son of a well known singer in
an ownership dispute over the rights of several musical arrangements, defended several clients in palimony
lawsuits, defended a national office furniture supply company in numerous employment disputes, prosecuted
a class action lawsuit on behalf of a physicians’ medical group, defended an international forklift
manufacturer in a $40 million lender liability action and represented its subsidiary in various distributorship
disputes, and advised a Canadian entertainment company in negotiating executive employment contracts and
other employment matters. Among other cases:
I recently secured a jury verdict award in federal court in excess of $2 million on behalf of a client based on
civil rights violations involving ADA and FEHA claims arising out of his employment.
I have represented the County of Orange in connection with the nationwide tobacco litigation settlement,
making numerous presentations to the Board of Supervisors concerning the substance and procedures
involved in the Master Settlement Agreement and the nature of settlement payments to be made.
I have counseled employers on all types of employment issues, including state and federal discrimination
and disability law, sexual harassment law, wage and hour standards, and other wrongful termination matters.
I have also defended several employers against sexual harassment and wrongful termination lawsuits.
I have fully prepared cases for trial in both state and federal court, completed numerous arbitrations and
mediations, filed and opposed 20 plus motions for summary judgment, taken and defended 100 depositions,
drafted and opposed all types of motions, filed ex parte applications for injunctive relief and pre-trial
attachments, and completed the appellate process several times, from preparing the record to filing all briefs.
I was also responsible for training younger associates, overseeing paralegals, and actively managing
large business litigation matters, delegating workload to other associates and paralegals. Finally, I
was responsible for conducting client intake, analyzing and responding to potential client matters.
1994-1996 SMITH, BRENNAN AND DICKERSON, Irvine, CA -- Associate
During my time at Smith, Brennan & Dickerson, I learned how to practice law in a much more self
sufficient manner. I was given the responsibility of overseeing some of my own cases, which afforded me
the opportunity to make my own decisions and to follow a case through from start to finish. My practice
focused on real estate litigation involving receiverships, as well as defense of insurance coverage matters
involving various environmental issues and occasional insurance defense matters concerning construction
defect issues.
1990-1994 MORRISON AND FOERSTER, Irvine, CA -- Associate
While at Morrison & Foerster, I learned the professionalism, effort, dedication, and organization
required to practice law and craft high quality work product. As an associate in the litigation
department of a large international law firm, I prepared legal research memoranda and drafted and
responded to motions and discovery documents in a wide ranging commercial litigation practice
including civil rights, employment, construction/design defect, real estate and environmental matters.
I gained valuable deposition and arbitration experience while defending against claims made my
multiple plaintiffs in the largest gender and age discrimination class action lawsuits in the country. I
litigated several pro bono family law and other matters and, as a result of my efforts on a homeless
defense project, I received the Poverty Law Center’s 1991 “Rookie of the Year” Award.

Prepared legal memoranda, pleadings and discovery documents in criminal/civil RICO cases.
