As an independent consultant for Salem Environmental responsibilities included the creation and
direction of an environmental department for the company. This included marketing and

SCDHEC, CERCLA, RCRA etc.) and the clients (commercial and non-commercial). I was also

ground water numerical modeling for the mining industry, preparation of regulatory compliance
documents for these as well as the creation of environmental preventive programs required.

As head of the environmental and drilling departments for the southeast region of the company,
which comprised offices in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Kentucky, I was responsible for
the management and technical guidance of 30 senior project managers. Responsibilities included
budget projections for the marketing department, cost proposal reviews, job cost management,
critical path preparation, time line implementation, project distribution and scheduling, and final
senior review. Responsibilities included management of the inter-phase between the

for solid waste and surficial effluent surface waters generated by the plant, in order to comply

preparation of the documents submitted to the different regulatory agencies. In addition, I was
also responsible for the preparation of all health and safety manuals and timely implementation

Senior Field Geologist- Hazwate Field Director - International Director of Hazwate
Program Latin America (5/81 - 4/89)
Duties during this 8 year period varied. Initially as senior field geologist I was responsible for
field supervision of entry level and technical personnel during the implementation of a
government-sponsored hydrogeological feasibility study to assess the possibility of diverting
costal a river to increase agricultural land area. After completion of the 2 year study, I was
promoted to head the implementation portion of the approved project under Hazawate a
hazardous waste government program. In this position I reported to the senior field engineer and
supervised a 20 person crew of field engineers, biologists, geologists, and technicians.
Responsibilities included hydrogeologic data evaluation, bi-weekly personnel scheduling, project
cost control, and government and Hazawate contact. After 3.5 years in this position, I was
promoted to head of the international division of the department (Hazawate), an international
Hazardous Waste program dedicated to working with governmental agencies in several Latin
American countries. My responsibilities included establishing relations between government
agencies and foreign contractors, negotiation of permits and presentation of projects to different
agencies involved.
