2008)

Responsible for comprehensive Human Resources for proprietary

residential construction business. Managed talent acquisition,

compensation, payroll, performance management, recognition and bonus

program, benefits, insurance, employee relations, and community

Shell Lubricants, Houston, Texas, ( January 2002-June 2003)

Responsible for comprehensive Labor Relations activities for nineteen

U.S. based plants and thirty-eight distribution centers engaged in the

manufacture, production and distribution of consumer products (brands

included Shell, Pennzoil, Quakerstate, Rain-X, Gumout, and Blue

Coral). 2000 employees

Accomplishments: Successfully managed/negotiated the effects of the

Shell purchase of Equilon Lubricants and Pennzoil-QuakerState Company

with represented groups.

Manager, Human Resources Supply, Manufacturing, and Distribution

Equilon Lubricants, Houston, Texas, (January2000-January2002)

Responsible for more than 500 employees at seven Lubricants Plants

throughout the U.S. (Houston, Seattle, Charleston, Los Angeles,

Detroit, Wood River, New Orleans) as well as Headquarters. Provided

support for represented, non-represented and staff employees. Managed

staff of three in managing Employment, Benefits, Payroll, EEO/AA,

Labor Relations, Training, and Compensation.

Accomplishments: Implemented Performance Development (positive

discipline), established consistent/uniform positions/compensation for

salaried and administrative employees at all plant locations,

developed career ladders for salaried and administrative employees,

negotiated flexible and competitive collective bargaining agreements,

developed curriculum and implemented supervisor training program,

established excellent working relationships with employees,

management, labor representatives and community.

Asst.Manager Human Resources

Equilon Refining and Marketing Inc. Anacortes, Washington (January

1992-December 1999)

Responsible for many activities within the 400 employee refinery

including: employment, eeo/aa/diversity, labor relations, absentee

control, substance abuse programs, payroll, and community relations.

Accomplishments: Successfully negotiated three collective bargaining

agreements, Managed Department of Labor AA audit to favorable

agreement, Chaired base pay Development team. Team matched non-

represented positions with industry standards and achieved targeted

compensation goals, served on team with Operations and Maintenance

Department heads and worked with union leadership to increase scope of

work performed by operators resulting in maintenance cost savings of

$500,000 per year. Established excellent working relationship with

employees, staff, managers, and Union representatives.

Established/coordinated assessment program for supervisor selection.

Sr. Coordinator Human Resources

Star Enterprise, Port Arthur, Texas Refinery Fuels Division (September

1986-December 1991)

Responsible for employee and labor relations for 275 employee

division, provided policy and program guidance to employees and

managers, managed substance abuse program and worked with union

leadership to resolve grievances.

Accomplishments: Reduced absenteeism by 30% reduced grievance load

from ten to four per year, established excellent working relationships

with employees, staff, managers and union representatives.

Asst. to Terminal Superintendent

Texaco Refining and Marketing, Port Arthur Terminal ( June 1979-August

1986)

Responsible for Employee Relations, labor relations, plant security,

and along with miscellaneous duties (both HR and operations) at the

225 Marine and packaged product terminal.

Accomplishments: Negotiated and merged union groups into like groups

at Port Arthur Plant in consolidation of operations effort, revised

security officers job duties and plant security policies resulting in

improved security and reduced cost.
