. C#: Shipping Dispatcher: This contains a Windows Forms application.

It dealt with exception handling, delegates and events, ADO.NET,

remoting, and encryption (AES, DES, RSA). It contained an ASP.NET

application that allowed customers to log in to their account and

purchase books from an online bookstore. If the customer does not

have an account, it redirects them to another web page where they can

register. The project also contained a Web Service application which

has methods to get the two nearest truck drivers given the latitude

and longitude.

. VB.NET: Drawing bar graphs, display and modify records from a

database table, calculate the costs of a video rental, data

validation, employee paycheck, loan amortization, cash register,

recording checks and deposits.

. Java: Mileage redeeming for a frequent airline flyer, snake

game, networking (client/server, sockets)

UNIQUE CLASSES TAKEN

4. Northern Illinois University (NIU) is one of the few colleges that

teach Assembler (System/370). There is a mandatory course that

undergraduate students must take if they want to get into the computer

science program. If they don't pass that course, they will not be

admitted into the program. After this course, there are a couple

other classes that require homework assignments to be done in

Assembler.

5. In the last semester of my Master's program (spring of 2007), NIU

offered an entire class on web services. It introduced the concept of

a web service, including how to model a service using WSDL, SOAP,

UDDI, and XML. The teacher discussed service oriented architecture,

BPEL, and the web services standard stack.
