. My job title is Physical Therapy Technician. I assist physical
therapists in providing care to patients. Under the direction and
supervision of physical therapists, I provide exercise, instruction; also
therapeutic methods like electrical stimulation, mechanical traction,
ultrasound, massage, and gait and balance training. Physical therapist
assistants record the patient's responses to treatment and report the
outcome of each treatment to the physical therapist. My job also includes
helping make therapy sessions productive, under the direct supervision of
a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant. I'm usually
responsible for keeping the treatment area clean and organized and for
preparing for each patient's therapy. When patients need assistance moving
to or from a treatment area, I assist in their transport. Other duties
include some clerical tasks, such as ordering depleted supplies, answering
the phone, and filling out charge/billing forms and other paperwork.

. Eastern State Hospital was the site of a paid internship I did while
at UK. The internship was only a semester long, but I stayed on as a
regular employee afterwards. My job title was Mental Health Associate
(MHA). My job duties were that of a nurse tech: Obtain and record -
Vital signs, sleep record, meal intake, patient location, patient
behavior, patient class attendance, medication taken or not. I also
had various other duties such as building a repertoire with the
patients, clearly and concisely communicating, learning to
redirect/calm an agitated patient to avoid a situation, how to
properly and effectively handle myself in a physical situation with an
unstable patient. I learned how to handle myself in almost any
situation and make the best of it.

. Spectrum Brands is a conglomeration of many companies. I worked as a
traveling merchandiser for the products and companies carried by the Lowe's
corporation. I was based out of Louisville, but worked the Lexington
district. I also had stores in Somerset, Corbin, and Hazard. My
responsibilities were to drive to the store, meet with management and
employees to build a working relationship and repertoire, educate Lowe's
employees about the Spectrum product line, resolve any issues or answer any
questions regarding the product, and use the relationships I built with
management along side individual store sales data to secure premium product
placement (i.e. end caps, register tips, etc I placed orders, stocked
shelves, build and take down displays, process buybacks of product, act as
an in-store salesman to the customers, and report to my manager any issues
I had.

. I worked for the USPS in zone 055, which is the sorting of priority mail
packages by zip code. My job duties included unloading priority mail off
of trucks. Delivering the containers to my zone, where others and I would
unload containers on the conveyer line and proceed to place them into
different containers to be dispatched by zip code. I was also to walk the
sorted containers to the dock to be loaded onto zip code specific trucks.
I was part of the Christmas casual program, however I was asked to stay on
and work through the rest of the year. I had to decline because it was a
full-time job on the midnight shift and I had to go back to school.

. At TASC I was a student worker, my responsibilities were to provide
audio/visual services and support, troubleshooting any problems that might
arise. As part of our services we provided Graphic & Multimedia Production
to helps create and develop graphics, illustrations, animations, and
digital images for courses and research projects at UK. These elements are
used in web-based courses, played back on CD, used in PowerPoint for
instruction or presentations, published in a book, a journal or, placed in
a poster or display project. Also, because of my availability I assisted
with the Distance Learning team. My responsibilities was to utilize a
variety of advanced technologies to enhance educational opportunities
including the Blackboard course management system, World Wide Web
instruction, interactive video, video-desktop conferencing, CD-ROM/DVD,
audio conferencing, telecourse/teleweb instruction. I was also to
troubleshoot any problems that occurred.

. I was a member of the Goody's team for three years; although it is a
department store because of my experience here I know how to handle many
tasks at once in a fast-paced stressful environment. My duties included:
Operating a register, Customer Service, Stock, Moving Freight, Receiving,
Processing, Cleaning, General Handy work such as heavy lifting and moving
fixtures. My last year with Goody's I was assigned to the position of
Assistant Manager. Asst. Manager details were obtaining change from the
petty drawer, and opening the store, closing the store, counting, and
balancing registers and deposits assigning specific jobs, setting price
points for ads, moving merchandise to follow corporate store flow, looking
at sales data and pulling higher selling item to prime sales locations,
cross-promoting with high volume merchandise, also reviewing subordinates
work/performance, reviewing time cards before submission and settling
disputes between coworkers.
