Resume:

My name is Kiran Chicoine and I am a *D designer. I graduated in May

of 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Advancing

Technology, Tempe, Arizona. I'm looking for work with a company that

utilizes 3D and multimedia software. One that creates advertisements,

informational pieces and works for many applications of business. Bellow

are some of the skills that I am focusing on and trying to expand upon.

Using techniques of high dynamic range image creation, I've set up

HDR lighting and reflections to bring more realism to my models. I wanted

to create works that are useful, visually appealing, and fun for myself and

the viewer.

Setting up custom particle systems and dynamic animations are really

fun as well. Using particle flow in 3D Studio Max, I've created bullet

models hitting walls and leaving circles where damage textures could

reside. I have created laser beams that write out my name from following

spline paths. I have been learning the basics behind RealFlow4, which is a

dynamics and liquid simulator. Simulated an internal pour with RealFlow4

to fill a surface's interior with liquid ("W8" model).

Other more fluid and dynamic animation methods I have used are motion

capture technology. Using Motion Analysis' cameras, I had to walk the

volume of the virtual stage, calibrating the cameras. Afterwards, I would

set up the marker array on an actor and have them stand in a T-Pose at the

start and end of capture.

I am able to build websites using Adobe Flash and create HTML based

websites that use CSS style sheets for color and layout functionality. I

can use Adobe Photoshop to create and edit textures, backgrounds, maps and

other images for web display, 3D, and other functionality as well.

. I am self motivated, and can work off of instructions.

. I'm all about learning tricks and methods of the trade.

. Grateful to receive and give help.

Projects:

Mitsubishi DNA Chain

. Starting off with a spline representation of the Mitsubishi logo, I

extruded the spline to form the modeled logo. Attaching many logos

into a chain was the next step that followed. Taking that chain, I

bent it into the initial helix shape. Finally, I copied the first

helix and added bars in the middle. The bars are colored

differently and represent Adenine, Cytosine, Guanine and Thymine.

.308 Shell

. This play on words model is of a shell created from .308 bullets.

Using a spline outline drawn from a reference image, the lathe

modifier is added creating a single bullet model. The next step

was creating a helix to have the subsequent models follow. After

some repositioning, the models were attached together. An array

was set up to lift and rotate the single helix into the shell

shape.

Piggy Bank Advert

. This little piggy went to collect all your loose change. The head

and body were created separately and later joined together. I

started with the head section by editable poly modifying a

geosphere and attaching another geosphere to create the body.

Extruding out some legs and creating the features was the end of

the modeling portion. The next step was getting the rendering

taken care of by using light tracer and my custom HDR reflective

material. It was a little difficult to get the look, but am happy

with this mock advertisement.

Fedora

. Recreated my fedora I have from The New York Hat Co. By making a

spline skeleton, I attached the splines together, cross sectioned

and surfaced them. Using shell to add thickness and edit poly to

tweak the form, the proper look was achieved. I added felt and

ribbon textures to give it a more realistic look.

Hobbies and Interests:

. Hanging out with my friends

. Watching movies

. Watching the World Cup and NHL games

. Playing games of all kinds

. Enjoying the outdoors

. Love listening to music
