Corporate Project Manager, OPEX Group, Winchester, VA Jan 09-

July 09

The OPEX (Operational Excellence) group is responsible for the

development, implementation and management of continuous improvements

and lean six sigma initiatives throughout the Remy Power Products

operations in Mexico and US.

Accomplishments:

. Responsible for financial and risk analysis of $700,000 cost reduction

initiatives involving the insource and re allocation of previously

outsourced production among three Mexican and one US operations.

Distribution Center Manager, Winchester, VA Sept

08- Jan 09

Provide cost effective and on time shipments to customers of 2.5 million

finished goods and 3.0 million cores from Winchester Distribution

employing 200 in a 140,000 sq ft building. Managed the internal project

designed to bring operation to cost effective levels by realigning

distribution logistics and customers.

Accomplishments:

. Relocated the core and recovery group to Mexico freeing up 70,000 sq-

ft of space for rent, reduced headcount by 120. Project completed

without affecting customer shipments and on time to book $500,000

restructuring entry in balance sheet.

. Re-layout of warehouse and consolidated distribution operations in 30%

less space than original. Re set stock locations accessibility to

match order frequency and minimize travel.

Distribution Center Manager, Edmond, OK Dec

07 - Sept 08

Manage distribution center operations with a $7 million labor budget and

shipping to major automotive retailers 3.5 million finished goods per

year at a sale value of $180 million and employing over 250 in a 500,000

sq ft building.

Accomplishment:

. Freed up 300, 000 sq of space for rent out of a 500,000 sq ft

building.

. Established a robust energy conservation program that reduced

Manager Mississippi Remanufacturing, Raleigh, MS Dec 06-

reduction activities in the remanufacturing Domestic Heavy Duty Starters

and Alternators in three separate Mississippi plants and facilitate the

. Organized volunteer team of workers to support CAT training

requirements in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico.

Plant Manager, Culpeper, VA Dec 02- Dec 06

The Culpeper plant is unique, as it's located inside a Virginia Department

of Corrections facility with 220 inmates and 14 Remy staff shipping over

600,000 domestic and import automotive starters per year. Manage the

business relationship between Remy and Dept of Corrections. Responsible for

operation inventory levels and P& L results.

Accomplishments:

. Led the Lean implementation team which resulted in production

increases of over 30% (420,000 units to 620,000) in one year without

adding manpower.

. Established a Kanban production scheduling system that resulted in

finished goods inventory reduction of $850,000 in eight month.

. Reached and maintained production delivery rates of 98% and reduced

WIP inventory from 8hrs to1hr by applying lean manufacturing

techniques (VSM, one piece flow, etc) across product lines.

. Implemented a Jidoka based "Quality at the Source" program empowering

operators to stop production and eliminate defects which resulted in

improving final test pass rate from 93.32% to 99.38%.

Production Manager - Import Alternators Group. Chantilly, VA Jan 02 -

Dec02

Manage and coordinate the on time production of over 100, 000 units per

year of small order quantity, multi change over operation required in the

remanufacturing 200 different automotive alternators part numbers

originally manufactured by Mitsubishi, Hitachi, Nippondenso, and Bosh.

Accomplishments:

. Implemented lean manufacturing methods across product families. Reduce

tooling changeover from 30 minutes to 5 minutes.

. Establish a simplified production scheduling system that brought

product deliveries in line with customer demand. Increased the build

to schedule performance to 98% from 90%

Messier Services / Dowty Aerospace, Sterling, Virginia 1994-2001

Messier is a French company leader in the manufacturing of landing gears

and hydraulics for Airbus, corporate and military aviation clients. In 1998

Messier purchased the Dowty's landing gear and aviation hydraulics

businesses.

Company Engineering and Materials Manager 1998-2001

Responsible for company supply chain with annual material purchases of $13

million and inventories of $8 million and engineering activities supporting

$40 million dollars in landing gear and hydraulic products sales.

Accomplishments:

. Met increase demand requirements with same inventory levels

($8million) by optimizing the acquisition and delivery of foreign

purchase components and materials.

. Enhanced engineering efficiency by establishing electronic technical

data systems which made possible to handle increased work load without

adding engineers at a saving of over $180,000 per year.

Messier Services/Dowty (cont)

Operations Manager - Landing Gears Group 1994-1998

Direct the Engineering, Production, Purchasing, Maintenance, and Customer

Service functions for the Landing Gear Division with $32 million in sales

and 160 people.

Accomplishments:

. Reduced production time from 65 days to 35 days by implementing lean

manufacturing processes, setting operations standards and eliminating

capacity bottlenecks such as grinding.

. Turn around group profit margins from $1.5 million loss to $2.4

million profit in two years.

Sundstrand Aerospace/ Westinghouse Electric 1992-1994

Sundstrand (now a United Technology Co.) is the world leader in the

manufacturing of aviation electrical generators, controls and mechanical

drives systems. In 1992 Sundstrand purchased the Aerospace business from

Westinghouse Electric.

Plant Manager, Lima, Ohio 1992-1994

Responsible for Budgets, Production, Customer Service, and Quality Control

of a FAA regulated facility that remanufactured and overhauled aviation

electrical generators and control systems for clients that included major

airlines and the U.S. Air Force. Responsible for operation inventory levels

and P& L results.

Accomplishments:

. Relocated the physical plant from Los Angeles to Ohio ahead of plan

by one month, in budget and without adversely effecting customer

deliveries.

. Directed the value stream mapping, equipment layout and lean design of

the new facility reducing production space by 30%.

Plant Manager, Los Angeles and Miami Aerospace Service Center 1987-

1992

Responsible for managing Production, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and

Quality Control for FAA regulated facilities dedicated to remanufactured

electrical generators and control systems for clients that included major

airlines and the U.S. Air Force. Responsible for operation inventory levels

and P& L results.

Accomplishments:

. Organized and directed technical and production activities required in

supporting the introduction to customers of the new technologically

advanced Variable Speed Constant Frequency aircraft generator.

. Maintained high moral and employee's commitment to customer service

during business acquisition period.

. Establish in the Miami plant a "Quality Edge" inspection system

resulting in the reduction of customers return from 10% to less than

1%.

. Returned the Miami operation to profitability in a year.
