I am interested in your position as a therapist. I am currently working as

a registered Mental Health Counselor intern at the Jewish Family Children's

Services to get licensed, and have been there since September 2009. I also

will be starting my dissertation for my Doctor of Education in Counseling

Psychology, approximately May 2010. I have completed all classes for my

doctorate degree.

I have worked with a wide range of clients, such as Bipolar, substance

abuse, depression, sexual, emotional, and physical abuse, as well as many

other mental illnesses. I feel very confident as a therapist, and am good

at what I do.

Personal

I am married with four grown children, and have over 25 years of experience

working in the public field.

During my internship at the Jewish Family Children's Services and The

Wellness Community, I did both individual and group counseling. My

clientele has included children, adolescence, adults, seniors, and

families.

Responsibilities at JFCS have included:

1. Group adolescent shop-lifting A.D.A.P. program (mandated by court)

2. (2) SOS senior group therapy

3. In-home senior assessments

4. Individual and group therapy at Booker Middle School for adolescents

6. Care-givers group

7 The Norc program (naturally occurring retirement community)

8. Self-esteem group for women

9. Families of veteran's group- psycho education

11. Basic assessments, Biopsychosocial assessments, and treatment plans

The Wellness Community

The Wellness Community included counseling cancer patients or care-givers

in an environment where emotions ran high, with the constant threat of

death and dying. Common psychiatric disorders included: anxiety, mood

disorders, cognitive disorders, and substance abuse, but included a need

for the knowledge of Oncology and the dimensions of cancer symptom

management.
