Dear Sir or Madam,
I would like to express my interest in the Tax Accountant position with Midstream
Energy Company. I found the opening on Indeed.com and am extremely interested in
working for your organization. After reviewing the job description and the qualifications,
I believe that my education and employment experience are well suited to excel in this
position.
After graduating from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting,
I started my career in public accounting as part of a mid-sized firm’s tax unit. I was
exposed to a variety of accounting issues, including federal and multi-state income tax
preparation, reconciliation of financial statements, and cost segregation studies. I also
developed a strong proficiency in a variety of applications essential for financial analysis
and this position was essential in developing a strong sense of time management. When I
left Peoria, I accepted an accounting position with BMI Hockey, a minor league hockey
team, in Bloomington, Illinois. As Financial Coordinator, I was primarily responsible for
reporting the financial status of the organization to the ownership group, and preparing
and adhering to seasonal and fiscal budgets. I also managed all Accounts Payable and
Accounts Receivable, reconciled bank statements, and worked closely with the Marketing
and Game Operations departments to create and implement cost savings strategies. Since
leaving BMI Hockey, I have been pursuing my CPA certification, and have successfully
passed one part of the exam, have completed another part and am awaiting the score, and
have the intention to sit for the remaining two parts in April. I have attached a copy of my
resume which further outlines my experiences and qualifications, and I would be happy
to provide letters of recommendation upon request.
I sincerely look forward to the potential of joining your organization. Although I am
currently residing in Bartlesville, OK, I am in the process of relocating to the Denver
area, and as such, would not require relocation assistance. I can easily make myself
available for an interview or conference call.
Should you require any additional information, please do not hesitate to reach out. I can
be reached at 309-***-**** or through email at *********@*****.***. Thank you for
your consideration.
Sincerely,
Nathan Sanders
