SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS
Bilingual Senior Mechanical Engineer with 11 years of progressive industry
experience. Highly skilled in casting, injection molding, and sheet metal
design. Proven ability to provide innovative solutions through blank-sheet
design, along with improving existing designs that positively affect
function, First Pass Yield, and warranty. Regarded as a people-oriented
team leader and team player who is open-minded and uses a common sense
approach to design.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
LINCOLN INDUSTRIAL - St. Louis, Missouri 2008 - 2009
(Manufacturer of manual and automatic grease lubrication systems)
Senior Mechanical Engineer
Designed and developed test procedures to evaluate a Grease filter rated at
3000 psi, which included pressure differential clog indication and relief
valve. Innovative system is slated for patent listing and design approved
without reservation by Caterpillar Company.
. Improved Grease Follower Plate to eliminate grease bypassing plate.
Solution successfully addressed and resolved warranty issue.
HUSKY CORPORATION - Pacific Missouri 2004 - 2008
(Manufacturer of gasoline dispensing equipment)
Project Engineer
Project Engineer in charge of vapor recovery nozzles. Managed, supervised,
designed, built, and tested prototypes from concept to production.
Extensive experience with state and private regulation agencies, including
California (CARB), Missouri (MODNR), and Underwriters Laboratories (UL).
Designed prototypes for injection molding, sand casting, die cast, sheet
metal, and coil spring; included assembling SLA to test fit, form, and
function. Qualified new tooling, perform function as-built (assembly)
testing, and life cycle testing. Supported production, such as SCAR
(supplier corrective action), QA (quality alert), FPY (first pass yield)
issues, and ECR (engineer change request).
. Evaluated existing design on a vapor nozzle and redesigned to improve FPY
(first pass yield) by 60%. Redesigns included injection molded and die
cast part that reduced part costs by 98% This resulted in 480% increase
in Nozzle production and 98% reduction in rework.
. Patent for Safe-T-Break. Product designed to separate with a vehicle
drive-off (250lbs) and to withstand in excess of 1000psi without
separating due to internal pressure, such as "water hammer." Entire line
of products has grown from this concept.
. Designed, modeled, and released to production two sand casting gasoline
vapor recovery nozzles, which have two distinct passages for fuel
delivery and vapor recovery. Solutions were for vacuum assist system and
balance system.

PAGE TWO
. Designed a venturi assembly for a CARB (California Air Resources Board).
Assembly must automatically shut nozzle off and remove liquid out of
vapor side of hose. Improved existing design data five times over.
. Reduced warranty returns of conventional nozzle from 40% to 1% by
redesigning sheet metal part.
CLEMCO INDUSTRIES - Washington, Missouri 2000 - 2004
(Manufacturer of abrasive blasting equipment)
Project Engineer
Supervised, designed, and tested model R&D projects including injection
molded, sand castings, extruded rubber, sheet metal, and flat pattern
stamping. Performed ASME calculations required for every pressure vessel
stamped per ASME code. Designed test fixtures to evaluate existing
products along with prototype. Developed test protocol for new
products/prototypes along with troubleshooting standard equipment.
Improved existing processes through new fixtures, molds, and methods of
manufacture.
. Designed NIOSH, ANSI Supplied Air Respirator/helmet with accessories that
included 3-D design in SolidWorks. Injection Molder window visor with
integral living hinge is used on supplied air respirator/helmet.
OEA - Tremonton, Utah 2000
(Automotive Airbag Initiator manufacturer)
Process Engineer
Team leader/designer for automated loading and cupping of ZPP explosive,
which removed human element in process.
IOMEGA - Ogden, Utah 1998 - 1999
Engineering Assistant/Internship
Developed test procedures to evaluate each version of ZIP drive. Designed
test fixtures and ran standard vibration and frequency, drop, read-write,
eject, etc., for each mechanical/firmware update.
