Summary
I am a graduate student from Georgia Institute of Technology with 3 years
of experience as a research associate. My work has been to study signaling
pathways and post-translational modifications such as phosphorylation on co-
regulatory proteins. During my experience, I have been able to work on many
Molecular biology and biochemical techniques such as Western blotting, 2D
electrophoresis, co-IP, qRT-PCR, mutagenesis and protein purification
techniques.
Technical expertise
. Molecular Biology techniques: DNA and RNA isolation, Quantitative real
time PCR (qRT-PCR), Site directed mutagenesis, Transformation, Protein
purification techniques, co-IP, knockdown using siRNA, Western
Blotting, 2-D Electrophoresis, maintaining mammalian cell cultures.
. Bioinformatics Tools: Sequence analysis, 3DProtein Structure analysis
by VMD, Argus lab.
. Computer Expertise: "C programming" and Data structures, Microsoft
Office Suite.

Experience
Georgia Institute of Technology
Atlanta, GA, USA
Graduate Research Associate
08/2006 - Till date
. Studied the functional significance of posttranslational modifications
on a co-regulator protein, p54nrb. Determined how these modifications
regulate the activity of p54nrb in both splicing and transcription.
. Studied the mode of activation of p21-activated kinases (PAK) 1 and 6
in adrenal cortex cells. Also determined the mechanism by which these
kinases regulate CYP17 gene transcription
