OBJECTIVE

Obtain a post-doctoral position to study nanoscale liquid-solid interfacial

phenomena, nanoparticles, nanocomposites with multiple/large-scale

simulations in computational chemistry, chemical engineering and materials

science.

EDUCATION

NC State University

7/2005 - 8/2009

. Ph.D. in Fiber & Polymer Science. Dissertation: Fiber Lubrication: a

Molecular Dynamics Simulation Study, directed by Prof. O. Rojas and Prof.

W. Krause, funded by National Textile Center, USA. (Project No.: C05-

NS09) Innovation: (1) molecular modeling of amorphous cellulose

surfaces, (2) the additivity method to calculate the interaction energy

between a polymeric surface and a single surfactant in aqueous solution,

and (3) meso-scale modeling of surfactant solutions confined or/and

sheared by hydrophilic/hydrophobic polymeric surfaces.

. Knowledgeable in applying modeling methodologies to characterize

polymeric surfaces/interface in nanotribology, nanostructures of ultra-

thin films, particularly in predicting the physical properties of

amorphous polymeric thin films, solid-liquid interface, nano-scale

adsorption, molecular lubrication phenomena, surfactant self-assembly and

micelle formation.

. Thorough understanding and practical expertise in the use of molecular

dynamics (MD) and mesoscopic dynamics (MesoDyn) simulation methods with

software packages: Materials Studio (Amorphous Cell, MesoDyn, DPD,

Discover, Synthia (QSAR), etc.), Lammps, VMD and NAMD.

. Hands-on expertise in modern computer operating systems (Linux/Windows)

and with programming languages such as Perl, Python and C++.

Donghua University

9/2000 - 3/2003

. M.S. in Fiber Science & Textile Engineering. Dissertation: The Study on

the Technology and the Yarn's Properties of the Cotton Sirofil Spinning,

directed Sub-project funded by the National Economy and Trade Commission,

P.R. China

Wuhan U. of Science & Engineering 9/1993 -

6/1997

. B.E. in Textile Engineering. Graduation Project: The Design of the

General Cotton Mill, graded A+.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Voluntary Research at Cornell University in Computational Chemistry

8/2009 - Present

. Project 1: Large-Scale Molecular Dynamics Simulation of Nanotribology,

with Prof. Juan Hinestroza.

We used well-established hydrodynamic shearing models at a nano scale to

understand molecular interactions between surfactants/solutions and

polymeric surfaces, shear stresses, temperature profiles and fluid

dynamics associated with polymeric surfaces.

. Project 2: Molecular Dynamics Simulations of Alanime Functions in a

Flaviviral Fusion Protein, with Dr. Zhaofei Li (zl58), Boyce Thompson

Institute of Cornell University.

We study the functional changes of proteins (PDB#: 3DUB) if induced by pH

value at a large-scale. These changes which cannot be directly observed

experimentally are inferred indirectly by large-scale MD simulations.

. Project 3: Multiple-scale simulations of Nanoparticle ionic materials

(NIMs), with Prof. Emmanuel P. Giannelis, Material Science and

Engineering at Cornell University. MD and DPD simulations are used to the

understand intra/interaction of NIMs and their fluid morphology.

Zhongyuan University of Technology

. Research Projects:

1. The Development of an Innovational Easy Cationic Dyeable Polyester

(ECDP) Fabric, funded by the Science and Technology Commission of Henan

Province, P.R. China

2. The Industrial Application of Fabric Computer-Aided Design (CAD),

funded by the Science and Technology Commission of Henan Province, P.R.

China
