Plant Manager, Fluid Transport - Coclisa San Lorenzo Plant, Juarez Mexico

Plant Manager with profit and loss responsibility associated with over

$50 million annual revenue business including over 500 employees.

Primary products produced are AC lines and other Fluid Transport lines

(tubes and hoses) for the automotive market including Ford, Nissan,

Chrysler and GM. San Lorenzo achieved improvements in all major metrics

by implementing increased standardized work, applying lean principles and

through strong leadership. Achievements include:

. Increased 4 Wall Profit from 6.2% to 24%. Generating $ 9.1 Million

increased profit.

. Reduced Labor and Overhead from 25.0% of Revenue to 18.5%. (26%

improvement)

. Increased efficiency and reduced Labor Costs by 39% on a cost per unit

basis.

. Improved and strengthened existing safety programs. Reduced

Recordable Incident rate 50% from 0.97 in 2008 to 0.48 incidents per

200,000 hours worked in 2009. Lost Time Case Rate = 0.00 with no

lost time incidents in over three years and over 5 Million safe man-

hours worked.

. Improved quality and reduced customer rejects over 80% from 18 defects

per million (18 ppm) to 3.4 defects per million (3.4 ppm) parts

shipped.

quality, human resources, finance, etc. to develop and implement a

Manufacturing Plan and budgets to launch new vehicles.

. Studied feasibility and investment required to produce multiple Light

Commercial Vehicles for the US market. (Full size vans, heavy duty

pick up trucks, chassis cabs, etc.)

. Led cross functional team to achieve break through ideas reducing

infrastructure investment over $ 100 million.

Senior Manager - Value Network Optimization Mar. '07 - April '08

. Led and assembled new team to investigate all aspects of Nissan's

Value Network/Supply Chain, especially body-in-white. Goal was

evaluate past Make/Buy Strategies, challenge current practices in all

areas to add value and eliminate waste.

. Developed tools and strategies to improve supplier partnerships (Value

Network Reinforcement Activity).

. Team identified and implemented over $3 million in annual savings and

actively supported other initiatives to save an additional $10 million

in logistics and piece price savings.

. Managed all departments within largest stamping plant in Nissan's

global system.

. Plant produces over 30 million parts per year.

. Responsible for plant wide Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery.

. Successfully launched all new Maxima without a plant expansion.

. Production grew 5% per year to 30.6 million parts while labor hours

fell 1% (6% productivity improvement) while adding new models and

complexity using ten to twenty year old presses. Auto Industry

benchmark report Harbour Report documented "Nissan's stamping operation

in Smyrna, Tenn., improved across nearly every one of stamping's basket

of measures." (2004)

. Maintained excellent Employee relations with UAW organizing efforts

continually rejected by our technicians by two to one margin.

. Led team of 350 employees.

. Total Stamping annual operating budget approximately $180 million.

. Coordinated Stamping Tooling Development including trials, buy-off and

shipping to US.

. Coordinated Manufacturing Plan Development

. Simultaneous Engineering Feedback from Manufacturing to Design for

Stamping Issues regarding quality, ease of manufacture. Activities

resulted in record few design changes saving over $320,000 compared to

similar projects.

. Coordinated in plant Stamping trials including Quality and

Productivity Improvements

. Established standards for Stamping Engineering new model development

procedures. Standards remain in use as of 2008.

Manufacturing Engineer - Stamping June '89 - June '94

. Coordinated installation of two large transfer presses and large try-

out press including Checkout, Installation and Start Up

. Led investigation and repair of design problems on two 2700T Transfer

presses.

. Identified root cause of design problem and proposed
