2007 - 2009
Managed the activities of two architectural firms, an interior design firm,
a general contractor, and 60 subcontractors and over 150 material vendors
for a seven component project.
. 24 story Hotel Tower - 302 rooms with 30 luxury suites, 30 deluxe rooms
and 242 typical rooms.
. Spa - 10,000 square feet located on the 2nd floor of the hotel including
nine treatment rooms, salon, fitness center and locker rooms.
. Convention Center - 15,000 square foot ballroom with a 46 foot stage with
green room facilities, two meeting rooms, pre-function space and a
Boardroom.
. Laundry facilities and a boiler room.
. 2 Restaurants and Bars with dedicated kitchen facilities.
. Public space expansion including a glass enclosed concourse, valet
facilities and a Porte Cochere.

. Casino Vessel - Largest United States Coast Guard certified passenger
vessel ever built in the United States - 6014 passengers, 402' long x
208' wide, measured at 39,012 tons.
. 950 vehicle, four story parking garage with speed ramps and two
elevators.
. 15,000 square foot expansion of the Pavilion docking building including a
100 foot wide entrance to casino floor, four new food and beverage
outlets, and surveillance and computer systems.
. Basin and Graving Dock construction including dewatering and water
filtration plant.
. Site work including surface parking, new 35,000 volt electrical
substation and switchgear building, sewer connections and utilities
relocations.
Planned and coordinated a 3 day outage with the contractors and operating
departments to transfer casino operations to the new casino vessel from the
existing vessel.

2002 - 2003
Managed a department of 47 salaried and over 500 bargaining unit
employees. Operating responsibilities included the dock operation, barge
loading and unloading, crane repair, mobile equipment fleet, in-plant
railroad equipment and operation, heating and air conditioning equipment,
machine and fabrication shops, general repair force, storehouse,
housekeeping and the Lake Michigan & Indiana short line railroad.
. Responsible for Burns Harbor Plant Engineering and Construction
activities including annual capital budget planning and management.
. Created a "War Room" to monitor operating costs and purchase order
commitments that reduced department spending by $1.20/ton and saved
$4,800,000 annually.
. Managed the transition to an all-craft workforce that reduced the
internal customer-billing rate in the machine shop by $20/hour and in the
fabrication shop by $9/hour.
. Developed and implemented new Employee Safety Process that resulted in
the department working over 1.9 million man-hours without a lost time
accident.
. Led and coached a cross functional team of young engineers that increased
the average slab length charged into the Hot Strip Mill furnaces by 11
inches, thereby saving over $10,000,000 annually in reduced operating,
yield, processing, productivity and product damage costs.

. Implemented the Y2K software conversion of the computerized maintenance
system (CMMS).

Assistant Superintendent - Cold Sheet Mill

. Responsible for the start-up of the $200 million Hot Dip Coating Line
facility including staffing, training and contractor activities.
. Developed the "Employee Safety Process" in conjunction with the United
Steelworkers and led the employee involvement training and
implementation efforts at Burns Harbor.
. Responsible for the planning and ramp up activities for the new SATURN
automotive business including partnership efforts between the
steelworkers (USWA) and the autoworkers (UAW).
. Created and implemented on-site service teams to serve our Indiana
based General Motors plants which increased orders for Burns Harbor by
30%.
. Coached the bargaining unit Quality Team and coordinated their
customer visits and related activities which resulted in a significant
improvement in quality performance and on-time delivery.
General Maintenance Supervisor - Cold Sheet Mill

. Coordinated planning of the Five Stand Tandem Mill modernization
efforts and supervised the construction activities and equipment
installation completed during mill outages.
