Project Description: Cigna acquired Great West Health in 2008 as a result

of which Cigna and Great west Pharmacy divisions were to be integrated

followed by the medical divisions. A new Pharmaceutical Rebate contract

management and Billing system needed to be developed since the old system

was based on antiquated technology and would not have been able to handle

both Cigna and Great West claims/contracts.

. Acted as the Business Representative responsible for the entire

project on behalf of the primary business sponsor, the President

of Contracting-Cigna Pharmacy

. Created a new Workflow process and got key business sign offs

from internal audit and senior leadership

. Identified Business requirements and converted them into

technical design for the new system

. Facilitated requirements sessions with business representatives

to identify gaps/opportunities for Improvement within various

business processes

. Held numerous brainstorming and design sessions with the

Technical team to come up with ways to handle each different

business scenario

. Made the technical team understand the vision of the business

leadership in how the new system would change business and

create new opportunities

. Worked with the Technical architects to give the business users

the power to manage data through a Rules based design of the

system

. Analyzed, created and documented the business rules to handle a

system where the business user can create different models to

aid in increased billing and future contract negotiation

. Performed detailed data analysis involving several upstream

systems and different data sources each having different feeds

and formats to make sure that the business rules have the data

required to support them.

. Identified future reporting requirements for the new system and

helped create a new reporting process including Contract

reporting, Manufacturer Billing packages and Financial reporting

. Created a workflow for Claim level reporting using the latest

NCPDP format for automatic reconciliation between billed and

paid amounts at the claim level

. Identified the different Data integration requirements between

the various upstream and downstream systems and feeds

. Made sure that the newly acquired company's claim and contract

management data is seamlessly integrated with CIGNA's systems

and all reporting needs are met

UAT

. Performed Due diligence for the new system, compared results to

scenarios, investigated the differences at the claim level and

validated the results

. Designed and documented the Rules and Business Setup required to

setup each contract within the new system.

. Created several documents for Design, Development and Training

including Business Requirement documents, Process flow diagrams,

Business Process Models, Use Cases, Business Rules documents,

User manual and System Requirement Specifications

. Successfully deployed the new system into production within the

required deadlines and realized increased billing on $1.5

million for the 4th qtr 2009 billing period using the new

system.
