Career Objective: To earn full time, permanent employment in the
commercial construction industry with a company that practices safely,
ethically and with respect for all stakeholders.
Career Experience:
May 2009-Present. Costello Construction. Columbia, MD. Superintendent.
Currently I am the Lead Superintendent on a service and inspection facility
for Virginia Rail Express. This project has daily time constraints and
extraordinary means and methods of construction that come with working in
an active train yard. In addition to my duties as a Lead Superintendent, I
also manage our self-performing site work and concrete crews. This work
includes estimating costs, making a schedule for those crews, ordering
material and overseeing execution. I am fortunate to have daily customer
interaction on this project. $4mil. Zero accidents to date.
May 2005-May 2009. Opus East L.L.C. Washington D.C. Superintendent. I was
Responsible for coordination and management of daily, on-site construction
activities for predominately design-build commercial construction projects.
I ensured schedule, budget and quality goals were met or exceeded, making
safety the top priority to achieve a zero accident record.
Project list at Opus:
Dulles Woods: Lead Superintendent of construction and site-work activities
for 3 tilt wall buildings totaling 250,000sf on a 29 acre site including
two 10,000 sf tenant improvements. $33mil zero accidents.
K-Street: Lead Superintendent for demolition and improvement for 5,000sf of
office space in downtown Washington D.C. The space needed to stay occupied
by our customer and their work had to be uninterrupted during construction.
This was successfully completed a week early and under budget. $25,000
zero accidents.
N.O.A.A: I was working on a GSA project for The National Oceanic and
Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). This was a LEED Silver project that
incorporated a 'Green Roof' system, underground cistern to recycle storm
water and indoor air quality requirements. The building was mission
critical and had an extensive mechanical system. Of the $130 million
dollar total project cost I was responsible for $50million. At times I
lead a
subcontractor staff of 300 people and managed an Assistant Superintendent.
I was the lead Superintendent for the below and above ground site work, 6
story parking garage and started to work on tenant improvements. I was
heavily involved in the base building from ground up. I was also assisting
in the pre-commissioning checks of the mechanical systems. $130mil zero
accidents.
2001-2005. Pulte Homes of Michigan. Lead Superintendent. I started as a
Customer Relations Manager where I received the 'Manager of the Year' award
for exceptional customer service. I worked my way into construction and
was ultimately responsible for up to 25 homes at a time in various stages
of construction from earthwork through closing. This was being done on a
580 home complex with a total project value of $116 mil. This project was
completed 3 months ahead of schedule and on budget.
1999-2001. Performance Contracting Group. Orlando, FL. Engineer.
As the Branch Engineer for the Cold Storage Division, I was responsible for
tracking job progress, assisting PM's with job start up and job site
safety. I would often travel out of state to do safety audits on active
projects. Some of the projects I worked on were: Tropicana, Minute Maid,
and Cagles Chicken Processing in Perry, GA. Our primary job was building
5000sf-25,000sf and up to 5 story refrigerated enclosures.
