The Parkes Companies, Inc., Franklin, TN Jan 2006 to Sept 2009
Project Superintendent of multi-million dollar commercial projects with
duties of daily operations and plan scheduling of subcontractors and
company staffing to ensure project on schedule outline. Worked with testing
and engineering facilities to make sure specifications and designs along
with work performed were within contract limits. Reviewed all 16 phases of
issued contracts scope of services for quality control and jobsite
compliance. Responsible for all daily reports of worked performed as well
as 2 week sub scheduling. Included also was all payroll documentation and
purchase order issuances. Inspected work being performed in a safe manner
by all trades on site and safety meetings held. Worked directly with State,
Federal and Local Officials in pulling of permits, SWPP compliance, OSHA
inspections, EPA compliance and building code inspections. Assisted
Project Manager in obtaining qualified subcontractors for project as well
as assisting in price negotiation and scheduling of any revisions or change
orders directives and percentage of completion for pay applications. Worked
with Owner or Owner's Representatives such as Engineers, Architects, or
Construction Manager on site and after project completion to outline
progress, continued direction or implementation needs to make future builds
more cost and time efficient. Gathered all As-Builts, OM and Warranties
along with C of O as required for closeout documentations.
Responsibilities included the inspection, receipt of, and proper location
placement of Owner furnished materials as well as contract purchases of
Parkes. Established mobilization/demobilizing, staffing (training or
certification requirements ), equipment rental, or tools as needed.
A&F Contractors, Farmville, VA October 1992 to February
2005
Co-owner of small residential/commercial construction company. Cold
called businesses to develop sales leads for commercial steel buildings.
Set up appointments for site engineers and Inspectors as needed. Outlined
schedules for subcontractors and schedule material delivery as required.
Worked with Owners or Owner's representative in field and at office on
desired changes and schedule progress. Worked directly in the field on
remodification of existing single family structures to multi-family units.
Reviewed with AOR issues on foreseen in construction so that a viable and
cost efficient resolution could be obtained. Maintained all documentation
for payroll, taxes and licensing.

Electrician Apprentice for small electrical company whose duties included
installation of new electrical services, troubleshooting electrical
problems, repairing commercial and residential equipment (heating and
cooling) on service calls.
T&E Construction, Richmond, VA March 1987 to June
1990
Foreman for commercial development company who performed all infrastructure
requirements of sewer, water, pumping stations and roads to include curb
and gutter of 2 subdivisions owned by company. Assisted Superintendent with
daily scheduling and material needs as well as operated equipment when
required.

February 1987
National Account Sales Representative responsible for servicing current
commercial construction accounts as well as establishing new customer base
of on-site construction needs and supplies. Work directly with delivery
staff to schedule product delivery.
