per year revenues and was part of a $500 million conglomerate later
purchased by the General Electric Co.)
Director of Research, Development & Engineering (1999-2002)
. Directed the significantly improved development of new, high precision
process and laboratory instruments. Provided leadership to cross-
functionally disciplined teams in Project Management, as well as to
engineering line management within a matrix environment.
. Improved product time to market from over 3.5 to just 1 year for a
complex on-board computer electro-mechanical products that measured
water purity, through improved project management, ISO phase-gate
reviews, design controls and design leadership.

. Led the design group and directed the purchasing department in the
outsourcing of parts for cost reduction measures, enhancing the Lean
manufacturing process.
. Increased resource allocation effectiveness by leading 38 technical
individuals with a variety of backgrounds and technical degrees. The

the prior larger group, through improved project management and design
systems.
. Led in the development of an analytical instrument that is utilized by
pharmaceutical manufacturers. This instrument is used by over 70% of
the pharmaceutical manufacturers worldwide to perform this particular
measurement.
. Led in the development of a software product employed by medical
manufacturers to store and secure data electronically. This product
was the first of its kind in our industry to comply with FDA paperless
