Quality Engineer (1999 - 2001)

Responsible for quality systems for structural products within plant,

including Quality Lab, Gage Control Program, and overall quality systems.

. Implemented database system and ran Daily Quality Meeting to

address and respond to all internal and external quality concerns

and complaints. Database system has been implemented at two other

plants and used as a prototype for a corporate-wide database system

to document, record and manage all quality concerns.

. Reduced customer rejects from 15,525 ppm to 225 ppm in by use of

scrap and rework rate from 28% to less than .5% within three days, saving

substitution of an external straightening process would reduce reject rate,

4. Worked with vendor to design die sinking process to allow forging

specific part to tolerance of less than 1( draft, generating additional

5. Worked with vendor to develop die material and sinking process;

increased tool life from 4,000 pieces / tool to over 80,000 pieces / tool,

improved piece quality, and significantly reduced cost / piece.

6. Developed and implemented secondary operation locating design, which

virtually eliminated scrap rate of 20%.

Responsible for overall product quality from quote to shipping. Also
