Executive Objective: To drive change across all aspects of quality,
customer satisfaction, warranty and continuous improvement. The end result
of these improvements improving profitability and shareholder value.
Leadership strategies:
. Create high performance teams: In multiple prior roles teams lacked
needed skills and abilities. Re-staffed new teams of direct reports,
and collaborated on multiple improvements in indirect reports and in
other functions.
. Improved PPM's (internal and external) from 50-90% at 2 different
companies
. Customer Awards: GM Performance Excellence, Chrysler Gold Pentastar
Award (2 different companies), Ford Q1
. Increased Lean based continuous improvement savings by $1.5m in 6
months
. Prioritize and deploy processes most critical to immediate
improvement: In prior roles I have found literally hundreds of
processes needed improvement, but targeted the biggest levers for the
business. These have included BOS/Policy Deployment, Customer
Balanced Scorecards, Lean Manufacturing, Supplier Development, poke-
yoke, FMEA, Global Safety Standards, Warranty Improvement/Reliability
Growth.
. Improved warranty cost at multiple companies: $6 mm USD @ Dana,
$7.5mm USD @ Inergy
. Achieved positive annual EBIT in 36 months after being negative for 5+
years
. Through collaboration with Supply Chain improved external supplier
PPM's > 90%
. Recognition of achievements through a career of constantly increasing
responsibilities & challenges, and three instances of being
recruited by people from prior employers
. Resolve the truly urgent crisis and leverage learning to validate
priorities: Managed multiple high complexity recalls at Dana,
multiple companies were under customer sanctions that could result in
loss of business, Valeo needed Q1 in < 12 months to continue business,
Rieter needed ISO/TS 16949 to avoid sanctions, UTA needed QS9000 to
avoid sanctions.
. Minimized cost to company for recalls, maximized speed to resolve, as
a result deployed Global Process Specifications to leverage best
practices and minimize re-learning and greatly minimize risk of
future recalls
. Eliminated customer sanctions at 5 sites globally in 10 months,
achieved all other milestones ahead of requirements
. Improved labor costs by $2.5m and scrap costs by $1.3m
