Certified adjunct instructor in Security Skills training for the Indiana
Department of Corrections Training Department. Certified since 2004.
. Security skills involves the use of restraints, the act of searching
by pat, frisk or strip search and the correct, safe manner of handling
keys, radios, chemical agents, etc. Adjunct instructors are required
to not only teach these, but also to evaluate and test for proficiency
each person that works in a prison system.
. Training includes annual recertification for all staff as well as new
training and testing for any new hires that got through the
Correctional Training Institute (CTI).
. Adjunct staff is required to recertify over 2 years and carry a
minimum amount of teaching hours to retain their certifications as
