Responsible for all aspects of manufacturing and technical interface with
domestic facilities and international companies in the manufacture and
import/export of auto parts and products, large electric plant replacement
parts and assemblies and environmental testing equipment.
Manager of Development
Nantong Technologies, Nantong, China
2002 - 2004
Designed and setup manufacturing facilities, assisted in hiring and
training new employees, developed joint ventures with suppliers and various
OEM and aftermarket automotive products. Facilities included machine shops,
mold shops wire harness fabrication and assembly and quality assurance.
Assisted in facility being ISO 9000 and TS 16949 Certified within 24 months
of opening. Assisted in hiring and training of skill trades personnel. The
business has developed successfully and added a second wire harness
facility in Beijing, China. Customers are Toyota, Nissan, Yamaha and
General Motors.
Manufacturing Manager
Pacific Packaging, Rancho Cucamonga, CA
1999 - 2002
Design and manufacture of high speed and bulk packaging equipment. Managed
machine shop, welding shop, electrical shop, assembly and quality. The
products ranged from large packing systems for bulk materials to small high
speed filling and packaging systems for mineral, food and medical
industries. Company was in very poor shape. Successfully raised performance
resulting in the first on time delivery and profit in nearly 10 years.
Business closed due to inadequate capital and sales.

Boeing, Long Beach, CA 1996
- 1999
Supervised the initial setup and operation of new Quick Response Department
Spare Parts Department. Analysis of required facilities and equipment,
assist in floor plan, designation, requisition and justification of
equipment, selection of employees and management of operations of newly
formed department. This was three year interim project. Present spares
facility was being closed and a new facility in Salt Lake City was being
built. This program was to provide capacity during the transition.
Manufacturing Manager

1990 - 1996
Job Shop, Fabrication of models, test specimens, test fixtures and tooling,
and prototypes for aerospace, marine, racing, entertainment and mold making
industries. Started as machine shop manager, promoted to model shop manager
and promoted again to manufacturing manger. Responsibilities included
planning, purchasing and security (high security facility). Models produced
were from small wind tunnel models (highly complex surfacing and fit) to
full scale radar cross section models involving composites construction of
fiberglass layups and accompanying molds, carbon-carbon and graphite epoxy
constructions. This company was a NASA Certified supplier. Company was
bought Alliant Technologies.

1985 - 1990
Managed Engineering Shops. ( Machine shop, wind tunnel model shop, sheet
metal fabrication, display model shop, composites and plastics shops and
prototype/mock-up shop). Reduced production costs in machine shop, sheet
metal shop and models shop by as much as 90% for some projects. Setup
project cross departmental tracking system for planning, scheduling and
tracking of complex projects with as many as 4500+ parts being custom
manufactured with budgets of up to $2.5 million per project. Awarded high
performance salary increases three years running.
Engineering Lab Machinist/Technician
Douglas Aircraft, Long Beach, CA / McDonnell Douglas Astronautics,
Huntington Beach, CA 1981 - 1985
Fabrication of Wind Tunnel Models, Engineering Test Specimens and Test
Fixtures and Prototypes. Designed test fixtures and ran test in and
Engineering Lab environment. As a machinist utilized all standard lab
machine shop equipment.
IE: manual mills and lathes, CNC mills and lathes, wire and sinker EDM
machines. Short run production parts, wind tunnel models (lofted surfaces -
similar to mold making with water lines and complex surfaces) and test
specimens. As Lab Technician, designed test fixtures, Fabricated test
fixtures and specimens, set up data acquisition systems and ran tests.
General Machinist
Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Company, Steubenville, Ohio
1970 - 1981
Machining of production and repair parts for three steel production
facilities. Factory products were sheet and coil steel and various flat
rolled products. Range of machining was from large rebuild parts of 50 tons
or more to tiny control mechanisms for gauging and hydraulics systems. All
standard machine shop equipment plus gear hobbing machinery.
